I'm on my 5th bottle of Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil, with 4 of those being the largest size. I can confidently say it's the best. - Despite being a brightening moisturizer, it didn't cause any blemishes as I feared - Rinses off easily - Leaves skin feeling fresh and hydrated - Has a lovely fragrance - The bottle design is beautiful - No longer available in domestic markets, so you need to buy it duty-free or overseas - While the product quality is excellent, I'm not sure about its skin tone evening effects. This could be because I naturally have fair skin - ha*******Combination SkinRecommendedApr 5, 2021
I've been consistently using Shu Uemura's cleansing oils, but I got to try Blanc through their holiday miniature collection. Compared to the Green/Revital versions, the texture wasn't drastically different, but when mixed with water, it dissolved more smoothly, almost like a cream skin. It would be great for spring/summer when you need a bit of brightening and evening of skin tone due to UV exposure. I have combination skin with a slightly oily T-zone and drier cheeks, but I didn't experience any blemishes, excess oiliness, or that 'sitting on top of the skin' feeling. It would have been even better for spring/summer use if it had added benefits for managing blackheads or small pimples. Also, the price point is a bit steep. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedSep 24, 2020
To be honest, I bought this mainly because the purple packaging was so pretty, but the product inside is amazing too! My skin doesn't feel dry before or after cleansing, and it leaves my complexion smooth. Apart from the high price, the ingredients and effects seem really good. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSep 14, 2020
The cleansing effectiveness is decent and it does a good job of removing dead skin cells. Among Shu Uemura's cleansing oils, this one seemed to be the most effective at exfoliating during the emulsification process. Paying this much for these ingredients... It's disheartening and painful. - hi*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresMay 8, 2020
Nothing positive to say... I had high expectations when I received this as a sample, given it's from the Shu Uemura brand, but it's absolutely not what I hoped for. For reference, I have combination dehydrated skin. My face completely broke out after using this... At first, I thought it was because of wearing a mask, but as I continued using it, even my forehead, which doesn't touch the mask, started breaking out. I decided to check the ingredients and was shocked to find mineral oil... ugh. I immediately stopped using it and switched to a different oil, which calmed my skin down. To double-check, I tried this oil again, and sure enough, pimples started appearing one by one. Well... I'm not sure what tips I could give here. The ingredients are so terrible. The price seems incredibly inflated for what it is. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinSensitive SkinApr 23, 2020
This was nice, but... it felt rather ordinary. Is it really worth this price? For these ingredients? Basically expressing disappointment about the ingredients and price... I've tried all of Shu Uemura's cleansing products, and the pink one and this one were the best. For reference, I have combination dehydrated skin. - b.*******Combination SkinRecommendedFeb 6, 2020
I'm on my second or third bottle now. As someone with oily skin, I had preconceptions about using oils, but after trying this product, I've switched to oil cleansing. It effortlessly removes heavy makeup and even waterproof products in one go. I can feel my pores getting cleaner and less clogged. Since using this product, I feel like my oil and moisture balance has actually improved. Maybe it's just my imagination, but at first, I thought my complexion looked brighter, as if it had a brightening effect. I've tried other oils in between, including different ones from Shu Uemura, but this one seems to work best for me. The price is admittedly high... However, I only use 2-3 pumps in the evening, and the large size lasts about 5 months. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedNov 22, 2019
It brightens well and after rinsing, you can really feel the whitening effect The price point is high, and it's a bit disappointing that it's a Japanese brand... - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedOct 7, 2019
First: It really removes makeup effectively. Second: After using it, there's no tightness in the skin. Everything's great, but considering the price... it's a tad expensive? However, it's worth every penny. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedOct 1, 2019
A holy grail cleanser I couldn't replace for 10 years I've been using this product consistently for a decade, starting from when I was 20. Like many others, I've tried to switch to different products due to its high price point. I've ventured out, experimenting with many alternatives, only to find myself coming back to this one. For me, it's that kind of product... I've tried numerous options including: - Bioderma Cleansing Water - DHC Cleansing Oil - Shiseido Cleansing Oil - Innisfree Apple Seed But ultimately, I always return to this one. I even tried the Ultimate version from the same brand, designed for dry skin, but found it a bit heavy. The cleansing effectiveness is the same, but I prefer this original version. With just a simple rolling motion followed by rinsing with water, it removes makeup thoroughly. It excels in: Convenience Product effectiveness (perfect cleansing) Moisture (no skin tightness) I think it's a product that has it all! However... it's a Japanese product. I think it might be time to let it go. It's always been quite expensive, a real budget-buster. Recently, I've heard people talking about the Sulwhasoo Gentle Cleansing Oil as an alternative. As I'm almost finished with this one, I've ordered the Sulwhasoo. I'm really hoping the Sulwhasoo will be a good product. (Though I might end up coming back to this one again... we'll see.)
