The Hwahae Testers Review: After using it for two weeks, I can say that it removes makeup very easily, so I'm considering repurchasing. As someone with sensitive skin who regularly goes for facials, I was pleased that this product caused no irritation. Key points: • Removes makeup without irritation • Cleanses thoroughly, except for long-lasting tints (cushion foundation comes off completely) • Pleasant scent and eliminates the need for double cleansing • More saturated than other products, so one sheet is enough for light makeup • Surprisingly effective - even when I thought I had applied light makeup, the amount removed made me wonder if I had actually applied it thickly! There aren't many downsides as it doesn't cause blemishes and feels comfortable to use. If I had to mention something, the pads are a bit thin, so you might need 2-3 sheets for eye makeup removal. Also, the tweezers don't always grip the pads well, sometimes requiring multiple attempts to pick them up. For those who tend to misplace or drop the tweezers, here's a tip: Open the inner lid halfway and place the tweezers inside before closing the lid. This keeps them secure. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinSep 27, 2018
1. Cleansing effectiveness: Easily removes base makeup and eyebrow products. 2. Morning cleanse: Gently wipe with this while lying down after waking up, then rinse with water. It's gentler than using foam cleanser in the morning, and you can feel your skin texture improving with continued use. 3. Soft pads: I was worried they might be rough since they're cleansing pads, but they were fine to use. They're moderately soft, helping to remove dead skin cells and even out skin texture without being irritating. 4. Hydration: The areas where the pad passes don't immediately dry out, and they stay fine until you rinse. To be honest, I always followed up with water cleansing, so I haven't tried using this alone. After rinsing, there's no dryness, just smoothness. 5. Skin texture improvement: This is the best part for me! After use, if you rinse thoroughly with water, your skin becomes incredibly smooth. It's surprisingly soft... 6. Eliminates foam cleansing step: You don't need to use foam cleanser. I use two pads, but it still feels less irritating. 1. Potential eye irritation: It could be harmful if it gets in your eyes, so I use a separate lip and eye remover for eye makeup and only use this for base makeup and eyebrows. 2. Slight stickiness if not rinsed: If you don't rinse with water, there's a bit of stickiness left. It's similar to the residue after applying a cheap watery toner. But if you rinse with water, your skin becomes incredibly smooth, which is great. The key is to remove point makeup with a point remover, wipe your skin with these pads (use 2), then rinse with water. This method leaves your skin thoroughly cleansed but not dry! It's amazing. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinSep 27, 2018
It's incredibly hydrating. Even with heavier makeup, it feels like it wipes everything off in one go. After cleansing, my skin doesn't feel dry or tight, and there's minimal irritation, making it feel really gentle. The scent is subtle and inoffensive. I love that it has different textures on each side - you can start with the rougher side to remove makeup, then use the softer side to refine your skin texture. It's a great design! Unfortunately, I noticed small bumps on my cheeks from the very first day of use. I usually do an oil cleanse followed by a foam cleanser, but when I used this and then followed with my foam cleanser, I experienced some blemishes. I tried it consistently for over a week to see if it was something else, but it seems my skin just doesn't agree with it. They say you don't need to rinse after using this, but I still feel some residue. Also, the tweezers they sent don't have a specific storage spot. If we're meant to use them to take out the wipes, it would be great if there was a way to attach them to the container. This seems really effective for removing heavy makeup, including eye and lip products in one go. If you experience any issues on other parts of your face, you might want to consider using it just for makeup removal in those areas. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinSep 26, 2018
<The Hwahae Testers Review> I have sensitive combination skin with a slightly oily T-zone and dry U-zone. Here's my review after using it for a week: 1. Cleansing Effectiveness Based on my makeup routine using Est** Lauder Double Wear Foundation, Double Wear Cushion, Her* Mist Cushion (pre-renewal) + Ki**mi Eyebrow + Liquid Shadow + Cha*** Rouge Allure (staining lipstick), two cleansing pads are enough to remove everything thoroughly! 2. Ingredient Sensitivity Although it contains carbonated water, I couldn't even tell - there was no irritation at all! I have super sensitive skin that breaks out easily, but I didn't experience any blemishes with this product! 3. User Experience I was too lazy to use the tweezers, so I just peeled off one layer at a time with my hands. Using clean hands to grab from the top should be fine, right? As someone who usually uses cleansing water with cotton pads, I really appreciated how these pads skip the step of soaking cotton pads with cleansing water! Removing makeup can be such a hassle... but I loved how easy it was to just grab a pad and wipe everything off. You can use both sides - the gauze side first, then flip to use the embossed side. The gauze side is so soft, it doesn't irritate at all! You need at least 2 pads for one makeup removal session (+ I follow up with foam cleanser after using the pads). The second pad still picks up a lot of makeup, so you might need to use more than two for a thorough cleanse... As someone who uses Est** Lauder Double Wear, I still feel the need to double cleanse even after using the pads for peace of mind... (Therefore, it's not an all-in-one solution, but works well as a dedicated cleansing pad) Assuming you use 2-3 pads each time you remove makeup, a pack will last 20-30 days, which is about a month's supply for daily makeup wearers. At 17,000 won for 60 pads per container, it's not particularly budget-friendly. Even those with super sensitive skin can use this! I didn't experience any blemishes! For those who use cleansing milk or water with cotton pads to remove makeup, I highly recommend this product~ It allows for quick makeup removal! (You'll love the convenience of not having to go through the repetitive process of soaking cotton pads with cleansing water over and over again) - Hwahae UserDry SkinSep 24, 2018
First off, I love that it comes with tongs, making it super hygienic to use. Plus, being able to cleanse with pads is so convenient. Just a few swipes with the pad and your skin is perfectly cleansed. Honestly, I used to dread cleansing after coming home late, but removing makeup with these pads is a game-changer. It's way more effective than cleansing tissues - I still double cleanse out of habit, but it feels like this alone could do the job. Overall, this product really maximizes convenience and ease of use. However, while it removes eye makeup thoroughly, I experienced some stinging when using it around my eyes. I guess it's unavoidable since the pads are quite saturated, but the irritation is still a separate issue. Also, I find myself going through the pads quickly as I use multiple to ensure thorough cleansing. Using one each for my cheeks, forehead, and eyes+mouth means I'm using four at a time. It's a bit disappointing how fast I'm running out. If you avoid the eye area, there's no stinging. For a more thorough cleanse, try using both sides of the pad. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSep 24, 2018
This is a review from The Hwahae Testers! 1. Convenience While double cleansing might feel more thorough, I personally found this product alone left my skin feeling clean! It's super convenient for travel or those nights when you're too exhausted to wash your face properly! 2. Cleansing effectiveness It removes base makeup almost perfectly, and even takes off waterproof eyeliner along with other point makeup! Mascara needs a bit more time to dissolve for a clean removal. As for lips, it removes most products well, except for long-lasting stains. 3. Pad texture The pads are thick and soft, making them comfortable for daily use. I really loved that they didn't pill or separate - a big plus! The cleansing water is quite saturated, so it can feel a bit drippy during use. When cleansing the eye area, you need to apply some pressure, which can cause the product to get into your eyes. Although it claims to be a one-step cleanser, the fragrance makes me feel a bit uneasy about not following up with another cleanse. While I didn't experience any blemishes or irritation (I don't have super sensitive skin), and the scent isn't overpowering, it still feels a bit off to finish cleansing without rinsing afterwards. Since the pads are quite saturated (they're thick and absorb a lot of product!), try squeezing out some excess before use. Or, use a dry cotton pad alongside this product for a more thorough cleanse. Using these pads alone to gently rub around the eyes might be tricky due to the high liquid content. While I used it primarily for cleansing, I also found it great for touch-ups during long days out. I'd pack a couple in a small ziplock bag - definitely going to keep using it this way! After wiping, it leaves a slight hydration on the skin, so you can even apply cushion foundation directly for quick touch-ups if needed! - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinSep 22, 2018
The cleansing water is generously soaked into the pad, making it gentle on the skin. It effectively removes base makeup without any trouble and feels mild, which is great. It doesn't remove heavy eye makeup well, like mascara and eyeliner. Trying to use it to remove eye makeup causes too much irritation to the eyes. It's best to use this for removing base makeup, then lightly dampen a pad with remover for eye makeup. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSep 22, 2018
It's great for easily removing makeup!! After winning an unexpected event and using it for over a week, here's the result! Except for eye makeup, it wipes off really well with just a few swipes~ I don't use it daily since I don't wear heavy makeup, but it's perfect for double cleansing when I need to pay extra attention to removing my mineral sunscreen. The scent has the brand's signature natural fragrance. I was worried it might irritate my sensitive skin since it's a carbonated pad, but the product is surprisingly gentle. It's fascinating how it feels like bubbles are rising on your skin while cleansing! As mentioned in the product description, using the reverse side for a second cleanse is difficult because the pads are too small. Although tweezers are included, it's a hassle to use them, so I end up just washing my hands, taking out one sheet to wipe, and if it's not enough, I'll use another sheet to clean up to my neck, which works just fine. With so many exfoliating toners on the market these days, rather than focusing on product effectiveness, it might be better to improve competitiveness in terms of price, volume, or offering refill options. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSep 18, 2018
% Review from The Hwahae Testers % This product is truly amazing! I received it as a prize and initially thought it wouldn't be anything special, but I was pleasantly surprised. I don't usually wear much makeup, just sunscreen and BB cream, and this removes it all effortlessly. I first use the embossed side, then flip it over and wipe again with the smooth side. The instructions say you can rinse or not, but I felt more comfortable giving my face a thorough rinse. My skin feels incredibly soft afterwards, and it even removes dead skin cells. The texture of my skin is really improved! If it weren't for the fragrance, I'd give it five stars. It's a bit disappointing, but to be fair, the scent isn't overpowering. Be careful around the eyes as there's a slight irritation. Save that area for last and rinse quickly. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSep 17, 2018
This is a review from The Hwahae Testers! I tried these makeup remover pads on a full face of makeup, and the results were impressive! It cleaned everything off nicely. I used two pads in total. The first pad removed most of my face makeup. Since I don't wear heavy eye makeup, it did a decent job there too. However, one pad wasn't quite enough. With the second pad, I was able to remove the remaining traces of face makeup and thoroughly clean off my eye and lip makeup. Even when the product got into my eyes, it didn't sting. The pads were nicely saturated with the cleansing solution, so they didn't feel dry on the skin at all. The scent reminded me of aloe, though I can't describe it perfectly. My skin isn't particularly sensitive, and I didn't experience any blemishes after using these for a few days. I shared them with my mother, and she loved how convenient they were! According to my mother, when used gently, they didn't feel like they were 'scraping' the skin, so the irritation seems minimal. This was my first time trying pad-type products, and I must say, they're definitely convenient! They even come with tweezers, which is great for hygiene. Since pad products combine chemical and physical cleansing, doing a second cleanse might be too harsh on the skin. That's why I made sure to use them gently! The instructions saying you don't need to wash your face afterward, but can rinse with lukewarm water if desired, seem accurate. When I rinsed with lukewarm water, it felt like applying aloe gel and then wetting it - slightly slippery but not drying. Even heavily pigmented lip products came off easily with a bit of gentle rubbing. Seeing some makeup residue on the second pad shows it's removing makeup effectively! However, mascara was a bit trickier to remove - I'll mention this in the 'cons' section. One downside is that there's no place to store the tweezers, so they end up rolling around on my vanity. I guess I need to find a good spot for them! As for mascara, I use a heavy-duty fixer from Etude House and layer my mascara, so when I tried to remove it with the pad, it left a somewhat stiff feeling. I think the mascara came off, but the fixer remained. Well, fixers are meant to be strong, so I suppose that's understandable. Regarding the price, it's 17,000 won for 60 pads. You'd need to use two pads a day for effective makeup removal, which means it lasts about a month. I'm not sure if it's great value at full price, but it might be worth picking up during a sale. I wiped my skin in different directions - once with the grain, once against it. This method is optional!
