Personally, I find myself reaching for this product more often than La Roche-Posay's B5 cream because I see better soothing results with it. While it's my favorite among regenerating creams, the texture is super thick, making it challenging to get used to. - ba****Combination SkinSensitive SkinEnlarged PoresRecommendedJul 18, 2025
You can achieve a rich finish all year round It's a must-have in winter. I use it once a day even in summer Sometimes it separates from the water You need to mix it well before use - da********Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedJul 16, 2025
It's incredibly effective at calming redness. Plus, it's gentle on the skin. When your face feels like it's on fire, applying this makes the heat dissipate instantly. It's truly remarkable. The texture makes it difficult to apply. And it's quite drying... My skin type is between very dry and dry, and when I used this as my only moisturizer in winter, I developed patches of irritation on my face. Try mixing it with a richer cream. I blend a tiny amount of Bioderma Pommade with this, and it works wonders. - yo************Oily SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedJul 13, 2025
I highly recommend this for those with compromised skin barriers or irritated skin! When my skin barrier was weakened and I was dealing with a lot of blemishes, I started using this. While the results weren't instant, I gradually noticed my skin improving and the blemishes fading away. It's a shame I can't include photos, but trust me, I really recommend it! Be careful not to apply too much, even if you like it. It's a rather rich cream, so those with oily skin might want to avoid it in summer! It's crucial to apply a moderate amount consistently. If you have oily skin, using too much might actually prevent you from seeing the benefits. - ye*********Combination SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresRecommendedJul 13, 2025
When my skin is acting up, I apply this as the final step in my skincare routine before bed. It definitely calms my skin down overnight. It's quite rich, so those with oily skin should be careful not to apply too much. - 24********Combination SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedJul 12, 2025
This cream... it's really improved my skin... I'm so happy! The texture is quite rich, and it absorbs... well, just okay I guess. It leaves a white cast when applied, but you can sleep with it on without any issues. If you're applying ointments over it, make sure to use a thin layer to avoid mixing. It worked well for my combination skin. I wouldn't recommend it for those with oily skin though... it's a bit on the richer side. The downside is that it leaves a slightly greasy feeling after application... that's a bit disappointing! As a Hwahae Tester, I'd say this cream works hard for your skin. It's great for evening out your complexion and providing that coveted Inner Glow. However, if you're prone to blemishes or have super sensitive skin, you might want to patch test first. Remember, finding the right product is key to maintaining that perfect oil and moisture balance! - ye*********Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedJul 12, 2025
It had great regenerative properties and helped my skin recover well when it became sensitive. It feels heavy on the skin. After application, there's a slight white cast. Also, on cold days, the product separates. I'm not sure how to explain it precisely, but there was a phenomenon where the moisture and cream components within the cosmetic product would separate. The product seems to have both positive and negative aspects. While it's effective for skin recovery and sensitivity, the texture and consistency issues might be drawbacks for some users, especially in colder weather. - yu******Dry SkinRecommendedJul 8, 2025
First off, the texture is incredibly rich - it's probably the thickest cream I own. It's like spreading cheese on your skin! As an SOS cream, it's great for damaged areas or parts with a lot of redness. Pros: It's effective for healing acne scars and a little goes a long way, so it's actually quite cost-effective. The tube packaging keeps things hygienic. I didn't realize this before, but it's a European pharmacy brand, so you can trust the ingredients. Overall: (Note: When first opened, the contents might separate into water and cream.) It's highly effective for soothing skin and strengthening the skin barrier. It's a deeply hydrating cream that works well for sensitive or damaged skin. While the thick texture provides excellent hydration, it might be too heavy for oily skin types. Cons: The texture is very thick, heavy, and rich, so it might feel suffocating on oily skin. It takes a bit of time to absorb, so I recommend applying it at night. Initially, there can be a slight medicinal scent which might be off-putting. - sa*****Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedJul 6, 2025
This cream works wonders for both my sensitive combination dehydrated blemish-prone skin and my nephew's atopic dry skin. After trying various products, we always find ourselves coming back to Avène. The texture is unique - it starts off smooth but quickly becomes thicker, almost like an ointment. There's a slight white cast when applied. After application, your face looks dewy but doesn't feel sticky. I was initially worried the shine might cause blemishes, but it just creates a protective moisture barrier without triggering breakouts. It's perfect for sensitive skin days, offering soothing effects without irritation. Overall, it seems to have improved my skin's stability. In summer, I recommend applying a thin layer at night. It's especially great for winter and seasonal transitions. They also sell smaller sizes, which are perfect for testing. - Unusual application feel I'm used to it now, but you can feel the water and cream separating as you apply it. It's like putting water over an ointment - a bit strange, but it doesn't hinder absorption. The application just feels unique. - (Winter issue) Thermal water/cream separation As many reviews mention, in winter the thermal water and cream layers separate, so you might get mostly water at first. Even after mixing, the thermal water and cream don't blend perfectly, which is a downside. For those with super sensitive skin or combination dehydrated skin, this cream could be a game-changer. Its soothing properties and ability to balance oil and moisture make it stand out. While the texture might take some getting used to, many find the benefits outweigh this quirk. Remember to shake well before use, especially in colder months, to help mix the thermal water and cream layers. - th******Dry SkinRecommendedJul 4, 2025
A true holy grail product I've been using for over a decade! It's absolutely fantastic for calming the skin. When the occasional blemish pops up, I squeeze it gently and apply this on top. By the next morning, it's neatly scabbed over. Continued use helps fade any marks quickly - it's wonderful! I think of it more as an ointment than a cream, but I always apply it to dry or rough patches too! There's nothing bad to say! If I had to pick something, maybe the price was a bit steep when I was a student over a decade ago...? This product seems to be a versatile skin-soothing treatment that works wonders on blemishes and irritated skin. Its long-standing popularity speaks volumes about its effectiveness. The user appreciates its ability to heal and calm various skin concerns, from active breakouts to dry patches. While it may have been pricey for a student budget in the past, the benefits clearly outweigh any cost concerns, making it a staple in their skincare routine for years.
