This is an excellent product for balancing oil and moisture in dry skin. I was attracted to it even more because it's vegan, so I decided to purchase it. In autumn and winter, when my skin feels dry even after applying moisturizer, layering this oil on top helps maintain hydration. It might feel a bit greasy right after application, but when I wake up in the morning, my skin feels soft and moisturized. A little goes a long way, so it lasts for a long time! The scent is somewhat disappointing. It has a subtle fragrance reminiscent of men's products. On days when my skin is super sensitive, I might get a blemish or two. If you mix a drop of this with thick BB cream or foundation, it improves the absorption and gives a subtle glow! (This works for me because I have dry skin, but I wouldn't recommend this method for those with oily skin.) - ye******Oily SkinAcne SkinRecommendedDec 2, 2022
A unique oil type that leaves a non-greasy, hydrating feel! It's such a huge disappointment that it's been discontinued... I only have half a bottle left of what I stocked up, and now it's coming to an end... - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedSep 28, 2022
Even after applying two layers of cream or using a cream after an emulsion, my dehydrated skin just wouldn't improve. Every change of season or winter, my face would get itchy and uncomfortable. I thought about trying an oil, and luckily I discovered the Melixir offline pop-up store where I tested this product. I was satisfied with it, and hearing that its ingredients are similar to human skin oil, I decided to buy it. Now I'm on my third bottle! The scent isn't overpowering, and despite being an oil, it's not heavy. It works wonders for my combination dehydrated skin. I absolutely love it! I highly recommend this to anyone with dry skin! The only downside might be the price... While it's true that you only use a few drops each time, when you start using it after every cleansing, morning and night, it disappears alarmingly fast. While it's good to mix it with your cream, I personally found that using it alone absorbs better! - mi**********Normal SkinRecommendedSep 7, 2022
This oil is truly effective with just a tiny amount! As a first-time oil user, I was startled when I initially squeezed out a full pump. However, using about half that amount and gently patting it on my face gives a lovely glow. I recommend applying it at night. Interestingly, the instructions mention it can be used on hair too. I tried a small amount on my hair ends, and it wasn't bad at all. Overall, I'm quite pleased with it! The reason I suggest using it at night is because it's quite slippery, which might interfere with makeup application. Also, it can make your bangs look greasy! I advise carefully controlling the amount - a little goes a long way. - wl*****Dry SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedAug 28, 2022
[Absorbs well] It's a transparent, thin oil with a slight viscosity. After applying toner-essence-emulsion-cream, I gently spread this over my entire face as the final step. **My skin type is dry. [Absorbs well] When I wake up in the morning, it's completely absorbed. It seems to have good absorption. [Effectiveness] When I wake up, it's fully absorbed, and my skin has a glow and feels firm. I only apply it in the evening, not in the morning, and it's really great for hydration. On days when my skin texture feels rough, applying this makes it smooth by the next day. As always, Melixir is a brand I trust and use! As Melixir is a trusted vegan product, there's nothing I'm disappointed about! In winter, I add a drop or two of this oil to my cushion foundation before use. It gives a beautiful glow and provides hydration - it's so good! - ji**********Dry SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsDark CirclesWrinkles/ElasticityRecommendedJul 13, 2021
As someone with dry skin who's tried many oils, this one is truly a game-changer. It's technically an oil, but it feels more like it's water-based - I know it sounds impossible, but that's genuinely how it feels. It's a unique oil that leaves your skin feeling hydrated even after application. I highly recommend this to anyone who dislikes the heavy, greasy feeling of oils but needs them for dry skin. It spreads so easily, almost like water. The value for money is excellent. I also use the Melixir toner, and overall, their product quality seems great! Plus, the packaging design is beautifully minimalist. There's really nothing bad to say... While it's not the largest size, considering it has an expiration date and oils tend to last a long time, I find the current volume just right for me. You don't even need to use a full dropper. Just two drops on each cheek is enough to cover your entire face. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedDec 1, 2020
As someone with dry skin, I used to switch creams every winter, but I've finally settled on this one...! I also love its woody fragrance. There's nothing particularly bad about it. Maybe the price is a bit high...? But once you invest in it, it seems to last for a whole year. It's amazing when mixed with a hydration-packed moisturizer and some oil. I personally blend it with Sidmool Madagascar Moisture Cream. By adjusting the number of oil drops, you can use it year-round, both in summer and winter. - Hwahae UserDry SkinNov 2, 2020
Due to the hives I developed, I couldn't use the product properly and couldn't find any positive aspects. Hwahae claimed this product was free of allergens, but it seems they might need to revise that information. I broke out in hives on my face after applying this product. While it may not be an issue with the product itself, I suspect it contains an ingredient I'm allergic to. If you have sensitive skin or are prone to allergic reactions, it's advisable to patch test this product before full application. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedSep 16, 2020
I was using Melixir toner, vitamin serum, and cream, but as autumn arrived, my skin became dry, so I bought this oil too. It's moisturizing and gentle. Usually, oils don't absorb well into my skin and cause blemishes, but I like that this product isn't overly slippery. It's great that it absorbs well without sitting on top of the skin. The absorption isn't exceptionally smooth. I suppose it's because it's not a typically slippery oil. However, personally, I prefer this to an overly slick feeling. When used together with Melixir cream, it makes your skin deeply hydrated and supple. - go***********Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinJun 21, 2020
It's not extracted from shark liver and is vegan. Squalane is considered one of the best plant-based oils. It's been proven to be beneficial for the skin without clogging pores. The price! Absolutely do not buy it at this price! That money goes into marketing with celebrities. The Ordinary's plant-based squalane is 30mL of 100% plant-derived squalane without any fragrances or additives, offering much better value for money. The Melixir one is only 91.8% squalane with unnecessary essential oils that can irritate the skin. Even in small amounts not listed on the label, all essential oils contain potential allergens. Here, essential oils refer to sandalwood, bergamot, and rosemary leaf oil. The only worthwhile products from Melixir are the colorless lip balm and toner. The cream and squalane oil contain too many essential oils, the vitamin serum is formulated ignoring scientific principles (look up dermatologists' advice on choosing vitamin C serums), and the colored lip balms contain many harmful substances. Plus, it's overpriced. It seems like all the money goes into celebrity endorsements and marketing.
