It's wonderfully hydrating and seems less irritating than aloe soothing gels. Like all soothing gels, if used alone, it can still leave your skin feeling a bit tight. Make sure to layer an emulsion or cream on top after applying this!

The attached image is a screenshot of my direct Q&A with the company. Don't be surprised by the single review - I requested this product to be added to Hwahae. No need to worry! I have facial redness and tend to overheat easily. I also have a sun allergy. I bought this product to help reduce heat, looking for aloe and bamboo gel. My skin is combination, but it's closer to dehydrated dry in winter and dehydrated oily in summer. Please keep this in mind while reading. ๐ฐ Cooling effect Born with naturally high body heat, I've always stressed about my flushed face in summer. My sun allergy makes it worse, causing stinging and acne flare-ups. However, this product provides long-lasting coolness. It's great to apply on sensitive areas after cleansing, especially when kept in the fridge. ๐ฐ Absorption Unlike some sticky aloe gels that never seem to absorb, this one sinks in quickly with no residue. I was so relieved to find a non-sticky option! ๐ฐ Scent The fragrance is pleasant and subtle. It's not overpowering, just a gentle, nice aroma that's hard to describe but very agreeable. ๐ฐ Hygiene The packaging is great for hygiene. It has a flip-top lid and a bamboo shoot-shaped dispenser, eliminating the need for spatulas. This makes it perfect for shared use. ๐ฐ Ingredients Despite some concerning ingredients on Hwahae's chart, the actual amounts are minimal. I personally questioned the company about specific ingredients (see attached image). As someone with sensitive skin and sun allergies, I experienced no irritation. This product felt incredibly gentle. It's important to consider ingredient concentrations, not just their presence. It's a gel, not a cream, so hydration doesn't last too long. Oily skin types might find it sufficient, but those with dry or dehydrated oily skin should follow up with a moisturizer to lock in hydration. As someone who overheats easily, the cooling effect, while intense initially, doesn't last as long as I'd like. The packaging is cute with its bamboo shoot design, but the narrow top makes it hard to get all the product out. It's a shame to waste any. For an extra cooling boost, store it in the refrigerator. It feels incredibly refreshing on the skin right away!
