It's a water-based formula.
ConsInstead of a fine mist, it sprays in a concentrated stream, which can leave the skin feeling a bit sticky. Unfortunately, the effects don't last very long either.

I bought this for my national certification exam, but ended up using it in a pinch without a spray nozzle. It's actually not bad! It feels different from aerosol sprays. While sprays seem to create a stiff hold, this one starts sticky then dries to a slightly firm finish. It's not ideal for situations requiring rock-solid hold like a flight attendant updo, but it's great for taming flyaways or adding root volume. I especially like using it on a pin curl clip for side part volume. Though it doesn't last as long as aerosol sprays, it feels more natural while still providing hold, so I've been reaching for it more often lately. The scent isn't off-putting either. When washing it out, it seems to rinse clean with just a bit more attention than usual. I haven't tried spraying it directly on my scalp, so I'm not sure about potential blemishes, but I'd recommend applying it to styling tools rather than directly on the skin, as sprays generally aren't great for skin contact.
ConsWhile I don't have any major complaints, if I had to nitpick, I'd say the spray could be a bit more of a fine mist.
TipRather than spraying directly on hair, it's better to apply it to a tail comb or pin curl clip. This reduces the risk of clumping, makes it easier to control the amount, and prevents it from getting on your skin or scalp. After applying it to a pin curl clip and securing your hair, adding a touch of heat helps set the style nicely.
