- Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinNov 5, 2018
As one of The Hwahae Testers, I'm sharing my review. My skin is dry, so I usually layer multiple skincare products. Before I knew about the Hwahae app, I often got blemishes due to certain ingredients. Now that I use Hwahae, I only choose products with gentle ingredients, which has significantly reduced my skin issues. I've been using this product for about two weeks. The pump dispenser is convenient and hygienic. Applying it with your hands is more effective than using cotton pads. The scent is subtle with a hint of rice water, which I personally enjoy. The texture is like a runny essence and absorbs surprisingly quickly. After patting it in, my face feels baby-soft, supple, and moisturized. I use it alongside my usual aloe gel essence, and the hydration lasts longer. While I haven't seen immediate brightening effects, I believe using it for over three months might show results. After two weeks, my complexion has already become brighter. The gentle ingredients seem to suit my sensitive skin well, as I haven't experienced any blemishes. I'm satisfied with this product and plan to purchase it again when it's on sale. The price is a bit high for the amount you get. If it were more affordable, I'd love to use this product forever. As someone with dry skin that easily becomes itchy and develops small bumps when dehydrated, I've found that internal hydration is just as important as topical application. Drinking 7-8 glasses of water daily and snacking on nuts (walnuts, pine nuts, almonds) has made my skin less dry and more supple. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinNov 4, 2018
Here's my review after using it for a week. I have combination dehydrated skin that's prone to developing a pimple or two if I'm not careful. As the weather got colder, I was searching for a product to combat deep dryness, which led me to try this. First off, I liked that it balances the skin's pH. I used only this toner for a week, skipping my other ones, and I didn't experience any blemishes. The feel on my skin was nice too. My skin felt comfortable! I'm willing to keep using it consistently, if the price is right! Also, when I turn on the heater, my skin usually dries out quickly, leading to redness and oiliness, but it seems like my skin is holding up better than before. Though, to be honest, I can't be certain about this since we're not in the depths of winter yet. Well, it's hard to gauge significant skin improvement after such a short period of use. I can't think of any particular downsides... Overall, it's a gentle, unobtrusive toner. Since I use it with cotton pads for application, I do end up using quite a bit of product. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinNov 4, 2018
*This is a review from The Hwahae Testers. ●Skin Type My skin is combination/sensitive with an oily T-zone and other areas that get dry in winter. I tend to break out when using products that are too rich, so I mainly use hydrating products. ●Texture When I first used it, I thought, 'Why is this so oily and heavy?' (I usually use water-based toners) However, I was surprised that it didn't cause any blemishes. It turns out the slippery feeling wasn't from oil, but from the 'hemp' ingredient! So it wasn't as oily as it felt. ●Effects It definitely brightens up the skin when you apply and let it absorb before makeup! I felt that the rice and brightening ingredients had some noticeable effects. ●Effects I usually do the 7-skin method, but this toner wasn't suitable for that. The texture felt too rich for layering (although it's due to the hemp ingredient), so I found it a bit heavy for building up multiple layers of hydration. However, I don't think it would be great for those who enjoy oil-based toners either, because it contains alcohol. The moment it touches the skin, it feels like it evaporates just like alcohol! So those who like oil-based products for keeping the skin moisturized might find it drying. Rather than using it for the 7-skin method, it might be better to apply it once before makeup to brighten the skin and give it a bit of a hydration boost. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinNov 2, 2018
1. As someone who loves the 7-skin method, this is the most optimized toner I've used so far. 2. Thanks to its gentle ingredients, it doesn't cause any blemishes. Unlike other brightening skincare products I've tried that caused small bumps, this one was fine. 3. While I generally prefer unscented products, the subtle, indescribable fragrance of this one is quite pleasant. It's a bit lacking as a first toner, only 2% effective. The price is high compared to its performance. * Products that work well for me: Innisfree Broccoli, TrueCare, IOPE Derma line, SK-II Pitera Essence * Products that don't work well: Innisfree Blueberry, Artichoke, Laneige Water Bank, Imvely Mugwort Hope this helps those with similar experiences! - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinOct 30, 2018
Here's my review after using it consistently twice a day for a week, following my morning and evening cleansing routines. I have oily, acne-prone skin! First off, I really liked the simple and neat packaging. The pump dispenser made it super easy to control the amount I used. I was initially worried because it contains some ingredients that aren't great for oily skin. However, the product itself seems to be quite gentle. Despite my skin being prone to blemishes, I didn't experience any breakouts while using it! This was my first time trying a product with rice water, but it felt like I'd been using it for ages - in a good way! It applies more like a toner or water-based product rather than an oil. After application, my skin felt more matte than moisturized. I found it great for refining my skin texture after cleansing and before makeup. The scent is subtle and pleasant - I don't think it would be polarizing for most people. Out of the fourteen times I used it over a week, there was one instance when my skin felt tight after using it in the evening post-cleansing. While it applies smoothly and is great for refining skin texture, I wouldn't recommend it for long-lasting hydration. Also, although the product description claims to balance oil and moisture well, I didn't notice any significant effect in terms of reducing oil and boosting hydration. Despite being marketed as a whitening functional cosmetic, it doesn't really have any noticeable brightening effects. It was a bit disappointing that the product's benefits seemed limited to just refining skin texture. While the product instructions suggest using it with a cotton pad, I personally think it's better to apply it by patting it directly onto the skin with your hands for better absorption.
