I used a brush, but there was quite a bit of excess powder fallout. The color combinations are well-coordinated, allowing you to use all shades together harmoniously. While the color payoff is excellent, blending seems a bit challenging. The shadows set quickly upon application, so it's best to apply in small amounts and build up gradually to avoid patchiness. Blending was quite difficult.
