After over a month of searching, I stumbled upon this product. Although I was initially skeptical due to the abundance of reviews from NewSkin sellers, I decided to give it a try based on the consistent praise for its moisturizing properties and coverage. Here's what I loved about it: 1. Lightweight application: Unlike previous BB cushions that felt heavy and obvious, this one felt so light that I could comfortably wear it all day without feeling like I had makeup on. 2. 2-in-1 cushion and concealer: While the cushion alone provided a nice, dewy finish, it wasn't quite enough to cover my acne scars. Thankfully, the included concealer allowed me to boost the coverage where needed. 3. Minimal breakdown: The makeup held up impressively well throughout the day. I applied it in the early morning and didn't remove it until late at night (I'm not one for touch-ups or checking my makeup during the day). There was minimal settling into pores, and even though there was some shine around my oily T-zone, it looked more like a dewy glow than a mess. Initially, I thought the price was a bit steep, but after just one day of use, I was recommending it to everyone! Even my mother commented on how well it lasted. I was so impressed that I decided to make this Double Cover Miracle Cushion my go-to foundation. Little did I know what was in store...
Cons1. Coverage issues: While the cushion applies lightly, it doesn't provide great coverage on its own. Using the concealer makes my skin feel suffocated and suddenly dry. It's a catch-22 - I need the concealer for coverage, but it compromises the finish. I've been trying to apply it as thinly as possible, but it's still not ideal. 2. Severe blemish outbreak: This is where things went downhill fast. Before using this product, I had finally gotten my acne under control and my skin was in great condition. As someone with super sensitive skin, I usually react quickly if a product doesn't agree with me. The first night, I noticed a small blemish, which I didn't think much of. But after the second day of use, I was devastated. My cheeks were completely broken out, with painful, inflamed blemishes - something I'd never experienced before, even with my acne-prone skin. All my hard work on skincare was undone by this one product. 3. Seller's response: Hoping for some advice, I contacted the NewSkin seller, showing them before and after photos of my skin (thankfully, I had taken a bare-face photo before using the product). Their response? 'It looks like you're not drinking enough water. Try drinking more water when you use the product, and it should be fine.' I was speechless. In all my years dealing with sensitive skin, I've never heard such a dismissive and ridiculous explanation for a severe reaction. This interaction has completely put me off NewSkin products - even their lip products which I used to enjoy. For reference, the left side of the photo shows my relatively clear skin before use, and the right side shows the severe breakout after just two days of use. Despite claims of good ingredients, I've never had such a bad reaction to a supposedly high-quality product. I felt compelled to share my experience as a counterpoint to the numerous seller reviews. I purchased this in early June, and I'm still struggling with the aftermath of this breakout, unable to wear proper makeup. This has been, by far, the worst reaction I've ever had to a cosmetic product.
