Skin type: Typical combination dehydrated skin with blemishes and whiteheads due to dead skin cells. Makeup doesn't sit well, so I often go bare-faced with lots of moisturizer to fake that 'Inner Glow'. People say my skin looks good, but after cleansing, it's super dry and my pores are clogged with sebum, ruining the texture. Makeup looks worse than bare skin due to dead skin cells and pores. Turns out there are quite a few people like me out there! If this sounds like you and your bare face looks better than with makeup, I highly recommend the Skin Caviar Essence! I deducted one star because anything applied after the essence inevitably pills. If budget allows, using both the essence and cream together is great (I recommend using the cream only at night!). While the essence is about $500 with a 98% satisfaction rate, the $600 cream only gets about an 80% satisfaction rate... sigh. Using both products together offers good compatibility, but I didn't feel extra synergy, so I'm sticking with just the essence. Oh! My mom, who has dry skin, says using both the cream and essence together works much better for her. Application: I expected a high-end essence to be super concentrated and thick, but it has a surprisingly fluid texture. It feels refreshing and slightly warm when applied, and absorbs quickly! If you apply too much, even sunscreen will pill on top. Honestly, applying a generous amount before bed feels like it improves my skin more, but the sales associate advised against it... sigh. Absorption: It absorbs instantly, so reapplying can be excessive. Using the right amount helps the product last longer and makes the next skincare steps much easier! Hydration: It's great! Fast-absorbing with a refreshing feel, which might seem insufficient at first, but I find the essence alone is enough. Immediately after application, skin feels softer - not exactly 'smooth', but more delicate and supple. I think this is due to its hydrating power. Blemishes: I was surprised at how effective this high-performance essence is for blemishes! At first, I thought the improved texture was just superficial, but within days, my whiteheads and chin acne disappeared! I don't get red pimples, so I can't speak to all types of acne, but it worked wonders on white pimples and whiteheads! As mentioned in the main text, if you apply a bit too much, your makeup will pill. Even sunscreen starts to pill! It absorbs well and has great application. The scent is quite strong, but I heard it's not artificial. It seems to brighten the complexion nicely. Everything else is great, but the price is really, really high, which is a drawback.
