    Dry SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsInner Dryness
    May 29, 2025
As someone with sensitive, dry skin prone to dark spots and freckles, I'm always on the lookout for brightening products. When a seller in Thailand raved about pearl powder's skin-regenerating and brightening benefits, I was intrigued. They recommended mixing a tiny amount into oils, essences, or creams. I gave it a try for about six weeks, applying it to my face and body. The good news? No blemishes appeared. While I can't say I noticed any dramatic effects, this product's true strength lies in its luminosity. It imparts a beautiful, subtle shimmer all over, making your skin look radiant and glowy. Given its light-reflecting properties, I'd suggest using it more as a makeup enhancer rather than a skincare staple. Mix it into your foundation or highlighter for a gorgeous Inner Glow!
Did it actually brighten my complexion? Not in the slightest. What's more concerning is that after returning to Korea and checking the ingredients, I discovered it contains more talc than pearl powder - an ingredient that's actually banned here. Now I'm left wondering if it's even safe to use at all. Definitely not the miracle worker I was hoping for when it comes to evening out my skin tone.
Always prioritize your skin's health and safety. If you're unsure about a product's ingredients or their effects, it's best to consult with a dermatologist or stick to products that are approved for use in your country. Remember, what works for one person's skin might not work for another, so it's important to patch test and introduce new products gradually, especially if you have super sensitive skin.

Here's my review after using it for over a month. Purchased with my own money! ๐Ÿ’ My Skin Profile: I have extremely sensitive and reactive skin. Even when I use a 21 shade cushion, my skin doesn't appear too pale - it's on the lighter side. When I use harsh cosmetics, my skin gets red, I break out, or my pores become more noticeable. ๐Ÿ’ Product Introduction: This is known as a popular souvenir from overseas trips, especially honeymoons. Since it's a powder, it has a very generous shelf life. I bought it before COVID, but it's still safe to use (according to a Food Science PhD), so go ahead and use it! Photo 1: You can see it's a very small amount Photo 2: The lid is so hard to open! Those who've bought it will understand Photo 3: This is how it looks when applied to the back of your hand. Absolutely no sneezing allowed - it'll all fly away! Photo 4: This is just applied with my slightly sweaty hands, but look how beautifully it shimmers! ๐Ÿ’ One-line Review: A must-have for anyone wanting brighter skin. ๐Ÿ’ Caution: Use only a small amount. ๐Ÿ’ What I Liked: 1. Instantly brightens and illuminates the skin. It goes beyond just whitening - it's like you've turned on a physical light, truly beautiful. 2. Gives skin a radiant glow. The areas where it's applied immediately start to sparkle. (It doesn't last all day.) So it's perfect to apply before makeup on areas you want to emphasize - like under the eyes, bridge of the nose, and cupid's bow where you'd normally put highlighter. It looks absolutely stunning. โš˜ Despite its clear drawbacks, I recommend this product because the effects of points 1 and 2 are truly outstanding, and that sparkle is artistically gorgeous!
    1. Difficult to control the amount (see photo 2) It's meant to be used with a spoon, but it's very tricky. The lid doesn't even close properly... So it's easy to spill or drop, potentially wasting this expensive product. 2. Using too much can cause blemishes If you get greedy wanting to look extra sparkly and bright, and apply too many dots on your face, you'll end up with red irritation spots that very day. 3. Makes makeup pill Similar to point 2, unless you use a tiny amount, it'll cause your cushion foundation to pill and your makeup to come off. You could say it requires advanced skills to use properly. 4. Due to reasons 2 and 3, it's hard to see permanent brightening effects. It makes sense - you can't walk around with blemishes just to look brighter! It's burdensome to apply every day. Now that I look at the ingredients, they're not great either... Anyway, I extremely highly recommend using this when you want to look pretty with bare skin on MT (membership training) trips or vacations!
Try mixing it with face oil and apply as the very last step of your skincare routine
