First off, I love that it contains 74.9% deep sea water instead of purified water. It also includes spirulina extract. It's packed with ingredients that help with hydration, complexion improvement, wrinkle reduction, and elasticity - perfect for guys like me who hate applying multiple products. Even if it doesn't work miracles, it gives me peace of mind. Though I haven't used it long, I can already feel the hydration and slight improvement in my skin tone. 2. It has an Ocean Vitality scent, a refreshing citrus-spicy fragrance popular among men in their 20s. It's invigorating and smells like a mix of typical men's cologne and ocean breeze. It would be especially refreshing in summer. Personally, I really like the scent, and it lasts well too. 3. As an essence-in-emulsion, its texture is right between an essence and an emulsion. It's not runny, but definitely has a fluid consistency. For my dehydrated oily skin, it feels wonderfully light and moisturizing. I have oily skin with large pores, and usually rich products feel heavy and cause blemishes, but this absorbs quickly and smoothly. It's not sticky but still hydrating. In summer, this alone might be enough. I think it would suit many men's skin types well. So far, I haven't experienced any skin issues with it.
Cons1. It contains two ingredients to be cautious about. As mentioned earlier, since the fragrance is pleasant, it's listed high in the ingredients. Also, for a product aimed at men, who often have large pores and oily skin, it's concerning that it contains pore-clogging ingredients. 2. While the packaging is sleek and masculine with a cool vibe, it's opaque, making it hard to gauge how much product is left. You can only estimate by the weight in your hand, which is disappointing. 3. For those with dry skin, or even combination dehydrated skin like mine, this alone might not be enough. It feels very moisturizing at first, but over time, you might notice some dryness, necessitating an additional moisturizer. Of course, being an essence-in-emulsion, it can't fully replace a hydrating cream.
TipWhile it's very hydrating at first, you might feel some dryness as time passes. That's to be expected from an essence-in-emulsion! To combat this, I mix this product with a richer moisturizer in a separate container. This prevents that dry feeling later on. If you have dry rather than oily skin, you might want to increase the ratio of moisturizer in the mix.
