I must have gone through about five bottles... The scent was so important to me, and I used it well even though I didn't know much about cosmetics back then Now I'm moving on for more budget-friendly options... but I have a feeling I'll come back to this someday - tp**Dry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedApr 30, 2021
I use this for morning cleansing or as a second cleanser. Since I usually use gel cleansers, I expected good cleansing effectiveness, and it didn't disappoint with its gentle foam. It's quite nice for my sensitive skin, not causing any irritation. There's nothing bad to say about it except for the price... - Hwahae UserCombination SkinDec 26, 2020
The glass bottle gives it a luxurious feel. The scent of Aesop products... it's that familiar aroma we all know. Those with dry or extremely dry skin might really enjoy this. I only use it in my morning routine. Personally, I won't be repurchasing. It doesn't produce much lather and its cleansing effectiveness is weak. You definitely won't get that squeaky clean feeling. However, some people might appreciate that it doesn't leave your skin feeling tight after washing. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinDec 13, 2019
The fragrance is absolutely delightful, and I love that my skin doesn't feel dry immediately after cleansing... It's quite pricey... There are many ingredients to be cautious about... From potential allergens to irritating components... I'm using it because I received it as a gift, but I wouldn't spend my own money on this product. - ji***Normal SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedJul 18, 2019
After cleansing, there's absolutely no tightness in my face, and it feels incredibly hydrated. It's not an artificial moistness, but rather it seems like the skin's natural moisture isn't lost during the cleansing process. Plus, there's truly no irritation. I'm already on my umpteenth bottle! Also, it comes in a glass container, and once you've used it up and removed the sticker, it's easy to recycle. We should be reducing our use of plastic products! Some people might find it less satisfying because it doesn't produce a lot of foam and doesn't give that squeaky-clean feeling after washing. But whether it's shampoo or cleanser, products that foam well usually contain more ingredients like surfactants, which aren't actually good for your skin. Even if you're not used to it, I recommend giving it a try! You need to remove your makeup separately before cleansing! - so******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinMay 2, 2019
The only truly gentle thing about it. Besides that... I suppose the packaging is quite pretty? It's hard to tell if you've actually cleansed your face or not. Especially when used in the evening, it feels like sweat and sebum aren't properly washed away. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinOct 11, 2018
I'm rating this higher than my personal experience because of the overall score... My skin is sensitive and combination type, prone to seborrheic dermatitis around my eyes, nose, and mouth in summer due to excess oil, and I suffer from severe atopic dermatitis during seasonal changes and winter. The only positive I can mention is that it feels gentle. I'd recommend this only as a morning cleanser for those with normal skin types. It leaves a slightly under-cleansed feeling, which actually helps prevent dryness in the morning. However, those with oily skin might find it ineffective, while those with extremely dry skin might experience less deep dryness with just water cleansing. I've used this along with Aesop's Parsley Seed Cleanser, toner, serum, Fabulous Oil, and Camellia or Primrose cream - basically their entire line. For me, it was really disappointing. Whether my skin was oily or dry, the after-cleanse feeling was unsatisfactory. On oily days, it felt like the cleanser remained on my face, leaving it under-cleansed with inner dryness. On dry skin days, it felt like my skin was tearing from within, with the surface becoming parched. Even after applying toner and oil, the surface felt disconnected, and the deep dryness wasn't addressed at all. This might barely work for very oily skin types who use a toner, but I especially don't recommend this cleanser for oily or extremely dry skin. If you're used to creamy, rich lather, you might be taken aback by its dish soap-like foam, though it's not impossible to get used to. Those who dislike artificial fragrances might appreciate its natural scent, while others might find it medicinal and off-putting. - is******Dry SkinApr 29, 2017
My skin felt less tight after cleansing. It's nicely hydrating. The scent isn't unpleasant. I'd recommend it for a light morning cleanse. It doesn't cleanse thoroughly. Even after double cleansing, it doesn't remove everything. You might need to triple cleanse at least. I wouldn't recommend it for removing makeup. And it's not exactly cheap either. I found it works great when mixed with a bit of water in a foaming dispenser - it creates a lot of foam that way. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinOct 1, 2016
As someone who always experienced deep dryness right after cleansing, I noticed that sensation disappeared after using this product. I'm not sure if it contains oil, but that's what I observed. It's also incredibly gentle - even the small blemishes on my face have all vanished. This product really suits my skin perfectly! I'd recommend this more for morning cleansing rather than expecting a powerful cleanse. Of course, you could use it for double cleansing in the evening after thoroughly removing makeup with an oil cleanser. Personally, I'm satisfied using this product. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinJul 27, 2016
I first discovered this brand in Australia. It's so gentle that I've been using it consistently ever since. It's not irritating at all, which is great! It doesn't produce much foam, just a tiny bit of lather. At first, it feels like you haven't washed properly, but apparently that's how the product is supposed to be.
