As someone with sensitive skin due to chronic inflammation, I've been using only sunscreen as my base. I used this product to cover my skin after applying a gentle sunscreen from my dermatologist. I'm satisfied with how it brightens my complexion. I used it for coverage, but it was difficult to wash off completely during cleansing. It left a white residue on my skin. When I tried to cleanse again, the white product pilled up like dead skin cells. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMay 24, 2020
Powerful brightening effect - it really whitens, which can be both a pro and a con. Being a mineral sunscreen, it's non-irritating! Hard to remove - feels like it stays on even after cleansing. Slightly sticky. As I have combination skin with dry cheeks, it doesn't absorb well on my cheeks. I'd recommend just buying a different sunscreen product... haha - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinAug 1, 2019
First off, I tried this because it was recommended for its gentle ingredients and benefits for sensitive, blemish-prone skin - and it definitely lives up to the hype! It adheres to the skin better than I expected and doesn't easily melt off with sweat, so no stinging eyes. This is the first time I've switched sunscreens for the sake of my skin, and I'm pretty satisfied. It's a bit thick, and because it adheres so well to the skin, using just a cleansing foam isn't enough - it leaves residue behind. You absolutely need to do a first cleanse with cleansing oil or cream, otherwise you'll end up with lots of tiny bumps. I'm diligent about applying sunscreen to my neck too, and even there I experienced breakouts. Also, when you first apply it, your face turns so white you'll definitely need to use lip color. If you don't spread it well and pat it in, your face will look ghostly pale. Make sure to apply it in thin layers, spreading and patting it in gently. Even if you've only applied sunscreen, always do a double cleanse! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinJun 3, 2019
This is a review from The Hwahae Testers! My writing skills might not do it justice, so apologies if it's a bit short. On the positive side, I found that it absorbs well! I have dry cheeks, and its rich texture actually made it spread more easily. I guess it varies from person to person. Also, in terms of ingredients, there are only two potentially harmful ones, which seemed okay to me. However, if you have super sensitive skin, you might want to keep that in mind. Oh, and I loved how long-lasting it was! However, there were a few downsides I noticed while using it. The white cast was one issue, and while the rich texture helped it absorb initially, it became sticky over time. I thought this might be a bit disappointing, especially during the hot summer when you don't want your skin feeling tacky. The same goes for the shine - it increases over time, but using a smaller amount can help reduce this. So, I'd recommend using just a little bit at a time. Also, when it came to cleansing, there was definitely some residue left. I usually double cleanse, and after the first round, I could still feel some product on my skin. It took a more thorough second cleanse to remove it completely. So, make sure to pay extra attention to your cleansing routine after using this! As someone else mentioned, there's quite a bit of shine, so you might want to finish with a light dusting of powder. Remember, a little goes a long way with this product - even a tiny amount is enough! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinJun 1, 2019
Hello, this is a review from The Hwahae Testers. (I used this product consistently for 10 days before going out, starting from May 23rd!) 1. Application and Adherence The texture is a suitably rich cream formula that applies smoothly without any inconvenience. It's great that there's no pilling or lifting when applying base makeup afterwards. Also, the narrow opening is useful as you can squeeze out just the right amount directly onto your face without having to dispense it onto your hand first. 2. Ingredients As you may know, with only two caution ingredients, the formula is incredibly gentle. Being a mineral sunscreen is a big plus. If you cleanse properly, you shouldn't have to worry about blemishes. 3. Sun Protection Despite applying only a small amount of sunscreen and spending a long time outdoors, my skin didn't tan much, which shows it's functioning well as a sunscreen. The UV protection seems to be good. 1. Fragrance The scent is a bit strong (in my subjective opinion), so if you're sensitive to fragrances, I recommend testing it before purchasing. 2. Shininess I felt the skin became quite shiny after application due to its rich oil content, and as time passed, more oil seemed to surface compared to usual. Those with oily skin should take note. (+There's also a slight stickiness..) 3. Cleansing When cleansing with just a foam cleanser, there was a slight residue left.. After using this, I recommend first cleansing with an oil or water cleanser, followed by a foam cleanser for thorough removal. (I don't usually break out easily, but on the first day of use, I got a pimple on my nose, possibly due to improper cleansing... Make sure to cleanse thoroughly!) 4. White Cast This product does leave a white cast, so be sure to test it on your skin before purchasing. 1. A small amount spreads evenly across the entire face! Apply only a little to avoid excess shininess. 2. I recommend lightly dusting powder after use! It helps control shine and increases longevity!! 3. As emphasized earlier, make sure to cleanse even more thoroughly than usual!
