This mineral sunscreen definitely provides excellent UV protection in summer. It feels like it keeps my skin cooler! Though it's white, it brightens my complexion, making my skin look naturally fairer rather than leaving a white cast. I have genetically darker lips, and this sunscreen really makes them pop... It's amazing how just applying this sunscreen alone makes me look like I've done a full face of makeup. What a steal! Also, it doesn't cause any blemishes! I appreciate that the scent isn't too overpowering. I'm on my second bottle now - it's that good! The SPF could be higher... In peak summer, when going out, I apply a hydrating sunscreen first, then layer this on top. It doesn't really absorb, so it can feel a bit heavy on the skin. You can't touch your face after applying it because the white mineral powder residue stays on. If you use too much, it can settle into eyelid creases. It also tends to clump up where glasses rest on the nose. Fortunately, it doesn't leave white marks when you sweat. However, it doesn't wash off easily without double cleansing. I personally don't like to cleanse too harshly as it feels rough on my skin, so I've learned to live with it not coming off completely... Despite this, it doesn't cause blemishes! That's truly legendary - my acne actually decreased while using this. For those who prefer light makeup, just apply this and you're good to go. It works well as a base. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinJun 4, 2019
I was lucky enough to try this as one of The Hwahae Testers! My skin type is super sensitive with deep dryness but also prone to oiliness. Ever since my skin flared up, I can't just use any product carelessly. The texture is similar to typical mineral sunscreens - not too thick, not too watery. It felt a bit rich on the skin. To be honest, I found more drawbacks than benefits with this product. First off, the white cast is really severe. You have to pat it in for quite a while to reduce the whiteness, but even then, some remains. I understand that mineral sunscreens tend to have some white cast, but this was one of the worst I've experienced. The absorption isn't great either. As I mentioned, you need to spend a lot of time patting it in. I usually like to apply sunscreen generously, so maybe that's part of it, but it definitely doesn't absorb quickly. Lastly, the packaging is excessively soft. When you try to unscrew the cap, the whole tube twists with it. The container is so pliable that it's hard to open the cap in one go. +Addition: It stings my eyes a bit, unfortunately. I recommend applying it thinly using a brush, puff, or similar tool! - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinJun 4, 2019
As someone with sensitive, blemish-prone skin, I had high expectations for the Dr. Belmeur Mineral Sunscreen, known for its effectiveness on acne-prone skin. I'm pleased to say it lived up to its reputation. It was gentle and non-irritating on my skin. Unfortunately, it's far too white. When applied, it leaves such a noticeable white cast that it's off-putting, making me hesitant to use it. Whether due to my inability to control the amount or the product's inherent characteristics, it doesn't absorb well. I bought this alongside the Cell Fusion C sunscreen at the same time, but I find myself reaching for the latter more often. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJun 3, 2019
I felt more at ease using this product since fragrance was the only concerning ingredient. As someone who prioritizes sun protection and uses both mineral and chemical sunscreens, I was relieved that this is a mineral sunscreen, reducing worries about blemishes. While there was some initial white cast, it wasn't significant after thorough absorption. The soft exterior of the container allows for easy use without applying much pressure, and the yellow cap gives it a cute appearance. While white cast is inevitable with mineral sunscreens, it's manageable if absorbed well. However, this one doesn't absorb easily and leaves a patchy white cast. For men less concerned with appearance, the poor absorption might result in an uneven, messy look with visible white patches. For women, it's likely to pill before makeup application. It feels much stickier than other brands' chemical sunscreens, which are generally better for pre-makeup use. Reapplication, which should be frequent and generous, causes pilling - almost like dirt. The fragrance might be divisive (interestingly, fragrance is listed as a caution ingredient, but an unscented version might be less off-putting). Personally, the scent and texture remind me of old Nivea sunscreens. It offers excellent UV protection (PA+++ / SPF48) and would be suitable for children or teens who don't wear makeup. Apply the correct amount without rubbing too much to avoid pilling. Due to the slight white cast, it could double as a brightening moisturizer for quick, makeup-free outings if well-absorbed. The high SPF makes it great for summer outdoor activities. It's better suited as an outdoor-specific sunscreen rather than for daily use. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJun 2, 2019
This is a review from The Hwahae Testers! As someone with super sensitive skin, I'm extremely cautious when choosing cosmetics. I was pleased to find this product has almost no harmful ingredients! I was satisfied with its skin-friendly formula and high SPF. Despite my extremely sensitive skin, I didn't experience any blemishes! The scent seems better compared to other sunscreens too. After application, its unique white cast actually serves as a base for makeup. On days when I didn't wear makeup, I just applied this! I recommend it for middle and high school students as a base substitute when going to school. First off, it feels heavy. It's difficult to cleanse off. Even after using a cleansing water and then a foam cleanser, it doesn't come off easily... Since it's a mineral sunscreen, it doesn't apply smoothly and absorbs slowly. While there is a white cast, if you don't apply it thoroughly, the color can be uneven in places. Due to its poor spreadability, it doesn't apply well around the eyes, which made them feel a bit sensitive. It's greasier than expected and doesn't feel as hydrating as it should. It seems to strip away a lot of moisture. I found myself not reaching for it often. Also, is it just me or is the cap really stiff? It's hard to open. I won't be repurchasing this. Hmm... Make sure to pack on the hydration beforehand. That way, it won't feel dry. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAtopy SkinMay 20, 2019
The subtle color looked natural and didn't appear too heavy. The application felt nice, and I loved how moisturizing it was! Hmm... should I say it doesn't absorb well? When you apply this, your face literally shines... haha! I found that if you apply this after sunscreen and then use a no-sebum powder (to control oil), it's not bad at all.
