I bought this as a foam cleanser for the final step of my evening skincare routine after removing makeup. Interestingly, it doesn't lather at all despite being a cleanser. Its cleansing effectiveness isn't great, so I wouldn't recommend it as a primary cleanser. Usually for my morning cleanse, I rinse my face several times with warm water and finish with a cold water pat. I tried this product with my face already wet, and it felt like a watery gel, which I'm not sure I like. I'll use it a few more times and update my review. After trying it a few more times, I ended up throwing away what was left. I'd rather just cleanse with water alone. - qw********Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedDec 1, 2020
As someone with dry skin who battles dryness from seasonal changes to colder weather, this hydrating cleanser was truly a game-changer for me! When I first apply it and massage my face, I sometimes forget I'm even cleansing - it feels that good. It's like applying a hydrating gel? Unlike other cleansing foams, it doesn't leave my skin feeling dry afterwards, which I love. It's also gentle enough for my morning cleanse, and I use it for double cleansing after my cleansing oil to remove any residue. I believe proper cleansing is the absolute foundation for good skin, so I tried this product hoping to address my dryness issues. However, this alone wasn't enough to significantly reduce my skin's dryness. I'll have to use up the entire bottle before making a final judgment. Unfortunately, it seems Hwahae no longer sells this product. I think they might have sold out during a sale and haven't restocked. I'm planning to try the cleansing ampoule that came as a sample - if it works well, I might switch to that. I heard it's recommended by Director Pi! Applying this directly to dry skin can be a bit challenging. I recommend splashing your face with lukewarm water a few times before massaging this product on - it spreads more evenly that way. When rinsing, instead of washing it off immediately, try adding a bit more water to your face and massaging again before rinsing. I found this method works even better! - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedMar 17, 2020
I started using this product while searching for a gentle cleanser for my morning routine. Cleansing effectiveness: It's perfect for removing the slight oil buildup from sleeping. However, it might not be strong enough for removing makeup. Puffiness: While it doesn't miraculously eliminate all puffiness, it does seem to have some effect. I tend to wake up with slightly puffy eyes, but when I use this cleanser with a gentle rolling motion, my face quickly returns to normal. Skin feels: It has that characteristic feel of low pH products after use. Deep dryness: There was absolutely no tightness after use! Irritation: As someone with super sensitive, dry skin, I experienced no irritation at all. Packaging: It's so pretty! It's the kind of packaging that makes you look forward to using it in the morning. Overall: I never used to differentiate between morning and evening cleansers, but doing so has been great. I've always wanted something light for my morning cleanse, and I think I've found the right product. This product might be more suitable for those with dry skin rather than oily skin types. - 78*****Dry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedFeb 7, 2020
First off, I think the biggest advantage of this product is its hydration. The gel texture feels moisturizing throughout the cleansing process and even after, allowing you to cleanse without stripping your skin or leaving it dry. It leaves a unique moisturized feeling, different from the slippery finish typical of low pH cleansers. Surprisingly, even though it doesn't foam up (maybe because it's not a foam formula), it still manages to cleanse effectively... quite fascinating! Secondly, the ingredients! While there are many products these days with zero controversial ingredients, that doesn't mean it should be taken for granted. It's definitely a plus point in my book! I didn't experience any significant irritation while using it, and there wasn't even a hint of tingling or discomfort. Lastly, the price! It's pure magic that you can snag this for just 9,000 won during special sales at LaLa Blah. It's truly a value-for-money product. The only issue is that I bought this intending to use it as a first-step cleanser... I purchased it thinking it was for makeup removal, but it doesn't effectively remove base makeup. After using it, there's still a lot of residue left, especially under the eyes and around the nose. (I could've sworn I saw somewhere that it was capable of removing makeup...) Anyway, I'm docking one star because its cleansing power is disappointing as a first-step cleanser. I can't say for certain that no one else will make the same mistake I did! I'd recommend this to those who dislike the oily residue after using a cleansing oil for the first step, but find foam cleansers too drying! - in*******Dry SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedJan 24, 2020
My skin is super sensitive and extremely finicky, with excessive oiliness or extreme dryness depending on my health and environment. I carefully read reviews and thoroughly researched before purchasing. Gel-type cleansers with a slightly acidic pH that don't leave my skin feeling tight have always worked best for me, and this product fits the bill perfectly. The texture is a rich hydrating gel, feeling more like applying a moisturizer than washing your face. It doesn't lather much, which made me wonder about its cleansing effectiveness. (I used it as a second cleanse after oil cleansing, both day and night.) After rinsing, there's a slight slippery feeling typical of low pH cleansers, which I don't mind. Amazingly, after patting dry, my skin felt as soft as if I'd used a hydrating mask, with an even complexion. I experienced none of the irritation, dryness, or redness I'd felt recently with other foaming cleansers. When I tried toning afterwards, no residue came off on the cotton pad. In short, it's a gentle, hydrating cleanser that also cleanses effectively - a truly well-formulated product. They say skincare starts with cleansing, and I couldn't agree more. I highly recommend this to anyone with sensitive skin prone to irritation in extreme weather. It's become my new holy grail item since discovering Dokdo Skin. I'd never heard of this brand before spotting it at a Lala** counter, but I'm seriously impressed. Giving it my highest praise! The rich hydrating gel texture feels like applying a moisturizer, and it doesn't lather much, which might make you doubt its cleansing power. However, it leaves skin incredibly clean and balanced, with no residue on a toner pad, proving its excellent cleansing effectiveness. Those who prefer a foamy cleanser with a squeaky-clean feel might not be satisfied with this product. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedMay 13, 2019
I've been using Lagom cleansing, and this looked similar, so I decided to give it a try. The texture is even more elastic, and it even removes base makeup effectively! I highly recommend this gentle, acidic cleanser for morning use or when you've applied light makeup. It's non-irritating and leaves your skin feeling hydrated. There wasn't anything particularly disappointing about it, but I'd recommend this more for dry and sensitive skin rather than oily skin types!
