ConsOil builds up quickly and the makeup breakdown is really unflattering
TipSince it's been discontinued, let's look for an alternative product

At first, I noticed that just a light dab and thin application lasted incredibly long. Adding a touch of powder made it last even longer. As a student, I'm out from 8 AM to 10 PM without a chance to touch up. Most cushions I've used before would break down, clog my pores, and mix with powder, creating a cakey look and severe darkening. But this one manages to maintain its glow better than any other cushion I've tried when it does start to wear off!
ConsWell, I'm not sure if it's because my skin changes daily, but after using this for a while, I feel like its longevity becomes similar to other cushions. I end up switching to something else that seems to last longer, then come back to this one, and the cycle repeats. The most disappointing aspect is that there's a slight darkening effect, and sometimes when it does break down, it can look quite messy. It seems this cushion is highly dependent on your skin condition (though I suppose that's true for everything, haha).
TipThe key to making this last longer is applying it as thinly as possible. Especially since Foundwear was marketed with a focus on longevity, if you pay extra attention to the application technique, it could become your ultimate cushion companion.

I love how it fades beautifully when it starts to wear off.
ConsSigh... I bought this because it was supposed to be for oily skin, but as someone with combination skin (oily T-zone and dry cheeks), I feel like the 'for oily skin' claim is a total lie. After 2-3 hours, it starts breaking down around my nose. By 4 hours, the only part that still looks decent is my dry cheeks. They call it matte, but it's more like semi-matte at best. Also, I'm not super pale but not dark either - a typical 22 shade. So why does the middle shade 3 come out so light? I'm really disappointed with the color match.
TipI'm not a makeup expert, so I don't have any special tricks. I just apply the cushion and then use some Daiso oil control powder on top.

The pretty case was a nice bonus too. I felt it clung lightly to my skin and really evened out my complexion, making it look clean and bright. This would be perfect for those who like a fair, made-up look.
ConsThe tone is a bit too light and floaty for me... even though I'm shade 3. Maybe it's because I prefer a more natural look. It doesn't completely cover blemishes or spots, so you'll need to use a concealer with it. I felt it emphasized dead skin cells and sebum, and it's a bit drying for me. There's some darkening, and I'm not fond of how it breaks down. If you want a natural look, controlling the amount you apply seems to be key.
TipThree taps on the cheeks and nose are enough to brighten your complexion. I switched to an air puff, which definitely picks up less product than the original puff. The third photo shows tint staining, the fourth shows application with a puff, and the fifth shows the result after blending with fingers.

ConsI used it for about 3-4 weeks, and I'm not sure if it was because of this, but I started getting hives on my face. Also, it didn't hold up well towards the end of the day.

This one doesn't separate at all and feels so hydrating! What I love most is its longevity, how well it adheres to the skin, and that it doesn't clog my pores. It even fills in my pores nicely! While it barely breaks down throughout the day, even when it does, it fades naturally and beautifully without much darkening. Generally, Clio cushions don't darken on me, but this one is the best of them all. It's truly my holy grail cushion! I have combination skin that leans oily, but when I apply this after my usual skincare routine, the finish isn't matte at all and gives a subtle glow.
ConsFor me, the coverage was just average, so I definitely need to use concealer. It's crucial to control the amount you use - the cushion is so saturated that even a light press releases a lot of product. Also, I noticed that if you apply powder on top, it can break down a bit messily later. It's best to use minimal powder for a prettier skin finish and more graceful wear-off.
TipThis cushion looks best when applied thinly and won't break down if you do so. Just lightly tap the puff once on the cushion and spread it over your entire face, then use concealer for any remaining blemishes. Afterwards, only apply powder to the outer edges of your face or where absolutely necessary.

While it doesn't cover everything in one go, using a concealer works wonders. It covers pores well without emphasizing them. I was surprised that it covered my nose pores so well that I didn't need to use a primer, which I always used to do. It applies incredibly smoothly and has great adherence. Just a light tap is enough to cover the whole face. The staying power is impressive too, lasting easily for 4-5 hours. The case surface is like a mirror, so it's super convenient not having to open the cushion to check your reflection... Now it feels like such a hassle to open a case just to look in a mirror... Talk about first world problems!
ConsThe puff is incredibly soft and bouncy, which pairs perfectly with the cushion content, but it attracts so much dust! Personally, I don't think the base breaks down prettily. It seems to break down in a slightly oily, patchy way. If your skin condition isn't great, it can sometimes settle into wrinkles. Touch-ups can be challenging too. When you try to pat it for corrections, it tends to clump up.
TipMake sure to apply it only after your toner and emulsion have fully absorbed. Otherwise, it might clump or cake. Don't forget to exfoliate. If you don't, it might leave a white cast. For touch-ups, wipe the area you want to correct with a toner-soaked cotton pad before applying the base. This prevents clumping and ensures a smooth application. It might be a bit of a hassle, but it's crucial to wipe first! If you don't, it will clump up.
