ConsThe scent is quite off-putting, reminiscent of old-fashioned cosmetics. It was unbearable when wearing a mask, but it's a bit more tolerable now

I've only used Hera Black Cushion in shade 21, but since I have a lighter complexion, I tried shade 17 this time. I'm quite satisfied with this product! It applies lightly and thinly with excellent adherence. It feels moisturizing when you first apply it, but it finishes with a soft, semi-matte feel. The staying power is great with minimal breakdown, and the coverage is medium to high. It works well for covering pores and gives a subtle, natural glow. It's suitable for achieving that 'Inner Glow' look.
ConsHowever, it's quite expensive, and the fragrance doesn't agree with me. Moreover, the ingredients list isn't great, so I'm unsure about repurchasing.

No darkening effect 2. Doesn't transfer much to masks 3. While black foundation can be too drying, emphasize dead skin cells, accentuate texture, and settle into creases around the nose, this foundation is moisturizing and gives a decent skin finish
Cons1. I already knew the scent wasn't great 2. But my skin broke out the day after applying the foundation. When I checked the ingredients on Hwahae, it was a sebum-clogging allergy bomb. While other areas were fine, I had a massive acne outbreak on my philtrum and chin. After enduring it for a while, I used an unused Houttuynia cordata mask overnight, which noticeably calmed things down the next day. I got a prescription from the dermatologist but didn't take the antibiotics due to fear of severe side effects. In conclusion, this product only damaged my skin and wasted my money.

I have to admit it's better than cushion foundations. I think it's because it applies with a matte finish. The adherence is also excellent at this level, so I'm really satisfied. As for the shade, I'm a light 21 and it matches me quite well.
ConsThe pore coverage is weak, unfortunately. And the fragrance... it gives me such a headache. Especially nowadays when wearing a mask, I can smell it intensely. It really makes my head ache all day long, so I can't bring myself to use it. If it weren't for the scent, this could have been a daily staple, but because of it, I don't think I can use it anymore. That's why I had to deduct stars from my rating.
TipIf you apply it thinly in layers, the coverage improves.

Nevertheless, due to those expectations, I'm still using it. On the positive side, it has good staying power and absorbs well!
ConsFor a semi-matte finish, it was too matte. The ingredients seem to be quite harsh, as my small blemishes got worse. Even when removing it with a water cleanser, my skin feels extremely dry. It's as if the foundation is stealing moisture from my skin. While the staying power is decent, the way it breaks down is... very unattractive, which is disappointing. Also, the scent is quite strong, and given the current situation, wearing a mask makes me feel dizzy. I absolutely do not recommend this for those with dry skin. It might be okay for people with oily skin though.
TipIf you usually use shade 21 from other brands, you should probably go for shade 17 in this one.

When I saw this affordable set with great reviews, I decided to give it a try. After testing the sample shades, I can confirm that those who usually use shade 21 should opt for shade 17. With my fair skin prone to redness, pink-based foundations don't suit me, while yellow-based ones can make my skin look darker. Shade 17 gives me a natural, brightening effect that I love. The foundation's application, coverage, and longevity are all impressive. It performs well across the board and sets to a powder-like finish, eliminating the need for additional powder. However, it's a quick-drying formula, so you'll need to perfect your technique for applying it thinly.
ConsThe fragrance is overwhelmingly strong. I'm not sure if it's because I'm sensitive to scents, but as someone who dislikes strong perfumes, it's enough to trigger a slight headache for me. Additionally, after wearing it for a while, I experience some eye irritation similar to when I apply sunscreen incorrectly. I suspect the UV protection ingredients might be the cause.

It truly remains intact even after 12 hours.
ConsI'm surprised by those who call it moisturizing. It's extremely thick and dries quickly on the face. It's not semi-matte, but fully matte. It accentuates dead skin cells and requires a very thorough skincare routine beforehand. For shade 17, it's not as light as expected. Despite being an N shade, it has a pink undertone. The scent is... really unpleasant.
TipNone. I disliked the pink tone so much that I sold it secondhand. Shade 20 might work better. It's not very light.

I usually use shade 21, and my skin is slightly on the lighter side. The shade was recommended to me in-store after looking at my complexion. (I'm currently using a 10ml sample I received with my cushion purchase.) In my opinion, those who typically use shade 21 might find shade 17 Ivory more suitable, as the colors tend to run a bit dark. While shade 17 is Ivory, it has a subtle peach undertone. Those who prefer pink-based foundations will likely enjoy this. Coverage: It's quite good. I didn't need to use a separate concealer. Adherence: Excellent. Application: It glides on smoothly. I didn't experience any blemishes or irritation with this product.
ConsWhen I first used it, I was surprised by how strong the fragrance was. Also, while most companies these days are very mindful of ingredients when creating products, this one initially had quite a few cautionary ingredients when the list was first disclosed. Now it shows only about 5, but I'm not sure what criteria were used for this change. While I understand that color cosmetics may have some cautionary ingredients due to their nature, I think it would be better to eliminate the fragrance.
TipFor the shade 17 color, you can refer to the photo. It's the most accurate representation of the actual shade.

I mix it with a hydrating moisturizer. I really love that it comes in a variety of shades.
ConsThe scent is a bit... off-putting. And I'm disappointed that the ingredients aren't as good as I expected.

However, even though it's shade 17, it seems to be closer to the usual shade 21. If you normally use shade 17, I'd recommend choosing 13 or 17C instead.
ConsI'm writing this review because of the awful scent. It makes me want to throw it away! The fragrance... it really smells like old-fashioned cosmetics. It's so strong, and even after applying, the scent lingers, making me dizzy and nauseous. Why on earth do they keep using such a terrible fragrance?
