The lip formula that foreign beauty gurus swear by...? It has incredible staying power. The color is absolutely gorgeous. It looks beautiful applied on its own, and it's equally stunning as a base lip for gradient looks. It dries down too quickly... You have to apply and blend the lower lip, then quickly do the same for the upper lip. If it sets, it leaves visible lines, which is a bummer. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinFeb 15, 2020
I'd like to give it 3.5 stars, but since this is my first review, I went with 4 stars. I bought three similar shades from Lalavla on the same day, and this is one of them. I'm satisfied with the color. I'm tired of endless tone experiments, so I just try on all lipsticks and choose. The photo is unedited from a Note 9. Please use it as a reference. The staying power is excellent. It's labeled as a liquid lipstick, and while the application is ordinary, it adheres to the lips within seconds. Once it sets, it's incredibly matte and doesn't transfer even when you lick your lips. The attached photo shows it slightly removed with toner 10 minutes after application - it doesn't come off easily. However, it removes cleanly with makeup remover and doesn't leave any staining. I avoid staining, so I consider this a plus. I chose this product from a brand I hadn't tried before because it was labeled as cruelty-free. Fortunately, the ingredients aren't too bad. (Though I don't have sensitive skin) This was my first time trying this formula, and it's really difficult to apply. If you try to blend it too much, it clumps up and gets messy before it sets properly. It seems the key is to apply it neatly in one go. Also, it has the drawback of not being able to create a gradient effect. In conclusion, while I'm satisfied with the color, it's not too drying for a matte formula, and it's quite good for someone like me who hates touch-ups, I just can't figure out how to apply it perfectly... Since you can only remove it with makeup remover, I'm hesitant to apply it when I'm out. I'll update this review when I gain more beauty expertise and discover some tricks. For now, I'll share what I've figured out so far. When applying, don't be afraid to apply it generously in one go. Even if you apply a lot, once it dries and sets, it's not overwhelmingly heavy. In fact, if you apply too little, when your lips stretch (like when smiling), the lip makeup might crack along the lines as the wrinkles smooth out.
