Almost no scent, so I recommend it for those with super sensitive skin
ConsThe spray power is terrible. It's like they just poked a hole in a plastic nozzle and let it ooze out. If you try to mist it on your face, it just splatters and drips down

While it doesn't have any standout positive features, it also doesn't have any significant drawbacks. Its best quality is that it's a safe, non-irritating product that doesn't cause blemishes. I was surprised by the product's texture and packaging. Despite the name 'Concentrate', which might suggest a heavy formula, it has a water-like consistency with good flow, unlike typical creamy or viscous essences. The spray format was also unexpected. The light, water-like texture allows for easy application like a mist, making it suitable for oily skin types without feeling greasy. Personally, I found that a single spray dispenses quite a generous amount, but the product seems to last well despite frequent use. I noticed some skin improvement in the first few days of use and experienced no irritation. It seemed to have a calming effect on skin heat. The ingredient list is free from common allergens and irritants, making it suitable for most people. It didn't interfere with makeup application, causing no pilling or discomfort. Overall, it's definitely a product that feels completely comfortable for daily use.
ConsSpray Mechanism: The spray isn't as fine as I expected. It comes out in more of a stream than a mist, making it difficult to use for hydration touch-ups over makeup. The 'touch-less' claim doesn't seem accurate given how it dispenses. Hydration: While I noticed some skin improvement initially, the effect wasn't long-lasting. As someone with combination dehydrated skin, I found it wasn't hydrating enough when used alone as an essence. When I finished my routine with this product, my skin felt drier compared to when I followed it with a moisturizing cream. I wonder if the spray format causes the hydration to evaporate more quickly. Value for Money: Speaking as a consumer who prioritizes value, if I saw this product in a store, I honestly wouldn't even consider purchasing it. It doesn't live up to the expectations set by its name, and I don't feel it offers good value for its price. However, as mentioned in my overall assessment, I would happily use it if received as a gift.
TipI found this product very useful during long flights. Its size complies with carry-on liquid restrictions, eliminating the need for decanting. Its compact size makes it perfect for travel and in-flight use, and I used it extensively during my trip. After finishing the product, I repurposed the bottle by refilling it with other liquid toners, which proved to be quite convenient.

While it was a bit rich, I enjoyed using it. So, I had a good first impression of this product and was looking forward to trying it. First off, I didn't experience any issues with blemishes or skin irritation. The main difference I noticed was that it left my skin feeling hydrated and slightly oily. I found that using just these two base products was perfect for my skin. I also appreciated that it wasn't sticky and seemed to even out my skin tone nicely!
ConsThe downside is that the spray nozzle is a bit disappointing. When you spray it, the product tends to run down your face, which is a bit frustrating. Also, the price point feels a tad high, which is slightly disappointing.
TipIt works well when sprayed on before applying makeup - your makeup goes on smoothly and looks great!

And it's fragrance-free... Which actually makes it feel clean and fresh. However... For my super sensitive combination dehydrated skin, it does provide a bit of hydration, but it doesn't last long... It's not quite concentrated enough to be called a 'concentrate', more like a regular light mist... Compared to the few hydrating essence mists I'm currently using, this feels closer to just spraying water toner... There's nothing particularly moisturizing or impressive about it, nothing that really stands out... Maybe my skin feels slightly softer? That's about it.
ConsThe spray is like a water gun.. It comes out in a concentrated stream, creating bubbles... It's supposedly a spray-type water essence, but this water gun-like spray is baffling. Anyway, I spray it 10 times on my face... It drips so much I had to pat it in with my hands. It does make my skin feel softer than not using anything, but the hydration and moisturizing power are even less than a regular hydrating toner. I have super sensitive combination dehydrated skin. While 'concentrate' implies it's concentrated, the product name feels misleading given how watery it feels after spraying. It's almost like plain water. It might be better to just open the cap and use it as a toner. Anyway, as the name 'water essence' suggests, it has a light, water-like feel.. You'll know as soon as you test it.. Even though I won this in an event, to write honestly based on my experience, I've tried dozens of mists, but this La Roche-Posay product doesn't feel like something I'd necessarily want to purchase...
TipSince it drips too much to spray, I just open the cap and apply it with a cotton pad... I found it works a bit better when I keep it in the fridge and use it cool.

La Roche-Posay has been a go-to for me since my early 20s when I struggled with adult acne, and it really helped improve my skin. I've been using this product as a mist, keeping it in the bathroom to spritz on my face right after showering. It prevents my skin from drying out while I'm getting dressed and preparing for my skincare routine. It's fantastic because I can take my time post-shower without worrying about my face feeling tight or dry. The formula is so light and pure, you'd think it was just water - no scent, no stickiness. But there's a noticeable difference in my skin when I use it versus when I don't. It really keeps the dryness at bay.
ConsThe downside is that despite being marketed as 'touchless', the strong spray makes it impossible to avoid using your hands. It's not a fine, misty spray that you can just spritz and let absorb. When I first tried spraying it up close, it came out in a narrow stream, like a water gun! You definitely need to spray it from a distance. If you spray too close, you'll see it gather in droplets rather than dispersing evenly, forcing you to spread it with your hands. After a few uses, I've learned to hold it further away and press the nozzle firmly. Even then, compared to other mists, it doesn't spread as widely or evenly.
TipAs I mentioned in the positives, I'd recommend keeping this in your bathroom and using it right after your shower. It's perfect for that transition time between showering and starting your skincare routine, allowing you to take your time without worrying about your skin drying out.

Reviews by The Hwahae Testers undergo the same strict verification process as regular reviews, and if they don't meet our standards, revisions will be requested.ProsThe Hwahae Testers review: 1. Exceptional soothing effect - While I don't have severe acne, my skin tends to feel tight, tingly, and red when using unsuitable products. On the day I received this product, I had to go out and applied various things, which left my skin feeling tight, tingly, and flushed. That night, I used this product after an exfoliating toner with a misting application. The next day, the redness had completely disappeared, and the rough texture had significantly improved. 2. Hydrating - It's a bit too dry to use as an essence, but it's perfectly hydrating when used as a toner. Compared to my previous toner, which was quite drying, this one feels very moisturizing to me. It seems to maintain hydration well. In short, it's wonderfully hydrating! 3. Fragrance - As someone who doesn't particularly like products with strange scents, I really appreciate that this is 'fragrance-free'!
Cons1. Spray function... - The spray function is truly terrible... Instead of a fine mist that spreads across your face, it comes out in an almost straight line. When I first sprayed it, I was taken aback. The product is so good, couldn't they just replace the spray nozzle? Anyway, it's quite challenging to apply it directly to your face. You have to spray it on your cheeks and forehead in sequence and then pat it in with your hands, otherwise it just runs down your face. 2. Price...? - At 29,000 won for 100ml, it's a bit pricey from a student's perspective. However, given how effective the product is, I'd still buy it. If you have dry skin, I'd recommend trying it at least once, regardless of the price.
TipI think it works best if you open up your pores in the shower, then wash your face, and immediately mist this on.

ConsIt doesn't live up to its 'essence' name. It's really just like water, more of a toner. The spray isn't effective, so it's far from touch-free application. While the ingredients are gentle, there's nothing particularly special about them. When sprayed, it runs down excessively as shown in the photo, which is another drawback. Might as well just use it as a toner...
