  Pros

  First off, the color is absolutely stunning! It's really the star of the show. The shade itself is so sophisticated, subtle, and creates an incredible ambiance. It's like a luxurious antique rose-red-brown blend. While it has a reddish tone, there's a hint of brown that prevents it from looking too flushed, like a burning sweet potato. It has a calming effect that makes it less overwhelming despite being quite pigmented. It's not so dark that it looks dull or heavy either! When applied gently across the cheeks, the subdued color actually makes your face appear smaller. The blush has a strong presence and beautiful vibe that really sets the tone for your entire makeup look. It's a true statement piece that can carry your whole look. Its unique texture and feel are fantastic. It applies like watercolor, beautifully spreading and staining the skin. While it's a deep color without much transparency, it has this intriguing, slightly muted quality that's opaque yet diffused - it's really quite captivating! It's almost like a pastel painting or, paradoxically, an opaque yet intense watercolor. I love this distinctive, enigmatic quality. It has a certain painterly charm that you just can't get with powder or cream blushers. The packaging is lovely too. NARS' signature square shape and matte lid are so aesthetically pleasing. I've included a size comparison with AirPods Pro - it's on the shorter side but quite chunky. The staying power is pretty impressive as well! While I'll discuss some drawbacks later, one point that's both a pro and a con is its versatility as a liquid product. You can mix it with foundation or concealer for a softer hue, or apply it lightly for a completely different effect. Being able to create various looks with one product could definitely be seen as an advantage.

  Cons

  It's challenging to control the amount and intensity when applying. Unlike powder blushes that you can gradually build up with a brush, the liquid formula makes it a bit trickier. This is especially noticeable because of the deep color. With lighter shades, uneven application is less obvious, but with this intense pigment, any patchiness or over-application is more apparent. The result can vary greatly depending on your foundation or base. If you use a dewy foundation or apply before your base is fully set, it can blend with your skin tone, resulting in a warmer coral hue. On powdered, matte skin or bare skin, you'll get that vintage red with a touch of brown. The base affects both the color and how much you need to apply, introducing quite a few variables. Of course, this variability isn't entirely negative - it allows for more versatile use! A sheer application blended with foundation can create a softer, more everyday look. So perhaps it's not fair to call this purely a drawback. Lastly, there's the price. At 40,000 won... it's a bit hard to justify. While you get a decent amount, it's the same price as a good mid-range foundation from Sephora or Chicor. Given its drawbacks and application difficulty, the value for money isn't great. Especially when compared to something like Clinique Cheek Pop, which often goes on sale for around 20,000 won. While I bought it because I love the color, I'm hesitant to recommend it to others due to the price point.

  Tip

  For the most true-to-color application, it's best to apply this after completing your base makeup, including powder. Personally, I find it works best over a powdered, matte base. It doesn't pair well with dewy foundations as it tends to mix and dilute the original color. However, some might prefer this effect - it's all down to personal preference!
