As soon as you apply it, your skin surface instantly becomes smoother and velvety soft. The product has a natural skin tone that blends seamlessly with your complexion, providing natural-looking pore coverage. This keeps me coming back for more. Controlling the amount is crucial. You need to use just a tiny bit, about the size of a grain of rice. Otherwise, it tends to pill on the skin. - Hwahae UserDry SkinRecommendedJun 27, 2020
When I apply this after sunscreen and before foundation, there's no pilling and it feels like it adheres perfectly to my skin. The formula spreads easily - you don't need to warm it up or roll it between your fingers like some other products. Just squeeze out a tiny amount for each area and smooth it on. It fills in uneven texture so well that I can use it confidently even on busy mornings (which is almost every morning...) This might just be my imagination, but I sometimes worry that using a pore primer, no matter how well I cleanse, might irritate and enlarge my pores. So on days when I'm less concerned about my makeup, I try to use it sparingly. Haha! But I guess this isn't just an issue with this product, it's with primers in general since they fill in pores. For someone with large pores like me, it can lead to these kinds of worries... You'll probably find this at Sephora, but even the travel size lasts a long time, so try starting with that size to test it out! - mo*********Combination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMay 21, 2020
This product applies incredibly thinly in one go without clumping, leaving a wonderfully matte finish. It effectively fills in pores and fine lines, which I absolutely love. As someone with large pores, a primer is essential for me. This one controls oil and creates a matte finish, making it a must-have item. After using Benefit's Porefessional for 3-4 years until its expiration, I decided to try this. Compared to Benefit, it's better at controlling oil and leaves a much more matte finish. The pore coverage is equally good! It's also much easier to apply. There's no clumping or pilling, and it spreads thinly and evenly with just a light touch. It feels incredibly soft and matte, effectively filling in pores and fine lines. Unlike Benefit's, which I only used on oily areas with large pores like the T-zone, this one is so thin and matte that it works well all over the face. It's great for oil control and creating an overall matte base. It's not just for pores - it's an excellent primer in general, especially essential for summer. I'm glad they offer a mini size! It reduces concerns about price and expiration dates. I bought the smaller size since I don't use much primer and only use it during summer and the months before and after (about 4-5 months a year). The mini size is economical, prevents waste, and is conveniently portable! It's expensive! Even the 12ml travel size I bought was around $20. The full size is $51. It's almost pricier than foundation, which is a bit of a drawback. My current Zoeva foundation from Sephora was $38 for 50ml. For non-department store brands, foundations usually cost $30-40, so this primer is really priced like a foundation. Also, I've only seen this purple product at Sephora, so it might not be easily accessible everywhere. Comparison with 3 Smashbox products: I chose this brand because Sephora recommended Smashbox as a good primer-focused brand. The Radiant one with gold shimmer applies thinly and somewhat fills in small imperfections, but I prefer a matte finish. It lacked in pore coverage, which is important to me, and I personally didn't like the shimmer. While it gave a nice natural glow, it wasn't my preference. The silver Photo Finish, which ranks #1 on Hwahae, tended to clump and pill, and felt a bit thick. Although it eventually spread out when rubbed in, it required careful application. The thickness made it tricky to apply makeup over it. Lastly, this Minimize Pore product applies much thinner than Photo Finish, feeling delicate and smooth. It provides better coverage for wrinkles and pores without clumping or pilling. Even though Photo Finish is ranked higher, I'd recommend this Minimize Pore product for those seeking a matte finish. Highly recommended for oily skin types in summer and for anyone who prefers a matte finish! For those with dry skin or who prefer a dewy glow, I'd recommend the Radiant version.
