The glass container is a bit heavy, but I love how beautiful it looks. As a water-based toner, it absorbs really well. I tried using it without a cotton pad, just applying it directly with my hands. When I put it on, I didn't feel any irritation or burning sensation - it was very comfortable! It absorbs well and applies smoothly. I'm not sure about the refreshing feeling, but the bottle is pretty. There's no ingredient list on the bottle itself... It's inconvenient to have to look it up separately. I thought it would be fine since there are no harmful ingredients, but it doesn't seem to agree with my skin. As soon as I apply it, even hidden blemishes surface, so it's now sealed away...

Apologies if I can't be too detailed - you know how we guys can be. I meant to write this review earlier, but midterms got in the way. First off, this product's standout feature is its scent - it's subtly pleasant, like a fragrance your skin would love. Definitely recommend it for the aroma alone. It's also great for hydration and moisturizing. I've been using just this before bed, and even after washing my face in the morning, my skin feels softer compared to when I use the toner I previously reviewed (very satisfied!). Not only does it provide hydration, but it also moisturizes and helps balance oil and moisture levels. Sometimes I only apply this before makeup for school, and I haven't experienced any major issues - no breakdown, and the staying power and adherence seem consistent. (My routine: primer, then this product instead of sunscreen - I'm trying to match with Espoir, so please don't judge! - followed by Mirubaltz #12, Wake Make concealer, Hera Black foundation, and finishing powder). All in all, I'm extremely satisfied with this product even when used on its own! There aren't really any downsides to this product. It's satisfying as an alternative option. My skin suddenly flared up, so I had to visit a dermatologist, which shortened my actual usage period and delayed my review. However, the fact that it didn't cause any issues in calming my sensitive skin seems to confirm its gentle ingredients. It seems to slightly improve skin tone as well. Though it's not marketed as a brightening product, it makes my face look clearer and more radiant. It's so tempting to keep using it! The product quality is excellent, but the bottle itself is quite heavy. I worry it might break if I accidentally drop it. Also, when dispensing the toner, it can get a bit messy. Unlike other toners with a pointed tip for precise dispensing, this one requires tapping to get the product out. The area around the opening gets damp, attracting dust and dirt quickly, which is a bit disappointing. I tried using this toner on different areas of my face and found it has quite a soothing effect. I even tried keeping it in the fridge right before use, and it felt so soothing! During the changing seasons when my skin usually goes haywire, this toner saved me from the disaster of my makeup not sitting right on my skin. The texture is more like an essence, so it's a bit heavier for a toner. But that means even if I only apply this, my face doesn't feel tight (though don't skip your other skincare steps!). However, the hydrating effect doesn't last super long. If you're looking for a toner for the '7-skin method' rather than an exfoliating one, this Black Barley Toner could be a good choice. (I think even doing the '3-skin method' with this would be sufficient.) The amount that comes out of the bottle is quite small, which might drive impatient users like myself a bit crazy... But I suppose it does prevent waste. Rather than seeing dramatic effects right away, I noticed improvements in deep dryness over time. Unfortunately, I didn't see significant results in calming blemishes. Try keeping it in the fridge for a short while before use for an extra cooling effect. It's great to use with a cotton pad as a soothing treatment on specific areas like your nose, cheeks, or forehead.
