I think absorption is better than wiping off. The best method is to warm it up in the palm of your hand and gently pat it into the skin.

The packaging is flimsy. In the fall and winter, I feel it lacks moisture. I would recommend applying a more hydrating cream.

But this product has a fluidity that allows it to be used as a cleansing toner, and it can also be applied like an essence.

It's not as watery as a typical cleansing toner, so the essence remains on the skin, but it's also quickly absorbed, so I'd recommend it for dry skin types as well!
