Despite being a scrub, it's surprisingly gentle on the skin. The texture feels like mashed banana mixed with oil, with ground apricot seeds blended in. You just need to squeeze out a suitable amount, spread it on your face, massage in circular motions, leave it for a moment, then rinse off. After using it, there's absolutely no sensation of irritation on the face. It doesn't scrub to the point of drying out your skin. Instead, it feels like your normal face, but with just the shallow dead skin cells on the surface gently removed. I'm a bit disappointed as the ingredients aren't as impressive as I expected. If you're looking for a powerful exfoliating effect, I wouldn't recommend this. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedApr 22, 2020
The charm of this product lies in its reliability. I've been using it for over a year and haven't found anything particularly outstanding, but nothing negative either. After exfoliating, my skin feels delightfully soft and smooth. There's not much to complain about - it doesn't cause any tingling sensation or blemishes, and it's so consistently decent that I can't really find any downsides. - e9**Combination SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedDec 23, 2019
True to its purpose, it effectively removes dead skin cells without being harsh on the skin. While it didn't cause any blemishes, using it alone wasn't quite enough for exfoliation, so I used it alongside other tools. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedJun 18, 2019
This scrub was the first Kiehl's product I ever tried, and I absolutely love how smooth it makes my skin feel after use. The scrub particles seem to target just the dead skin cells, giving a perfect exfoliation experience. The price isn't exactly budget-friendly, so I use it sparingly. Despite that, I always find myself repurchasing it. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedNov 12, 2018
I've been using this product for years now. I tried others in between, but I like this one because it doesn't cause irritation. Some exfoliators create a lot of pilling when you rub them, like eraser shavings, but this one doesn't have that texture. It has small granules, but even when you massage it in, it's not harsh. I use it once or twice a week, and afterwards my skin feels silky smooth. Sometimes when I'm using it regularly, I wonder if it's really making a difference, but if I get busy and forget to use it for 2-3 weeks, I can definitely notice the change. The price isn't exactly budget-friendly, I'll admit. I usually buy it at duty-free shops when I travel abroad. If you're the type who gets satisfaction from seeing dead skin cells visibly sloughing off like eraser shavings, this might not be for you. Also, it takes some patience to rinse off completely - some people might not like the slightly slippery feeling it leaves. The texture is quite thick, so you need to squeeze the tube firmly to get it out, and you have to be careful when applying it. Sometimes it doesn't spread evenly and can fall off in clumps. I find it works best to gently massage the exfoliator for about a minute, then leave it on while I shower before rinsing it off. Occasionally, when I want to do a more intensive treatment, I'll do a thorough 2-minute exfoliation, rinse it off, then apply a wash-off mask. I'll leave that on while I finish my shower, then rinse it off at the end for super smooth skin. - lo******Dry SkinSensitive SkinJan 19, 2018
As someone with thin, sensitive skin, I opted for the melting type and I'm pleased it's not irritating at all. There's no visible sloughing off of dead skin cells. If that's what you're after, this might not be for you. However, I personally like the gentle exfoliating sensation. Use on damp skin after cleansing. - ye*******Dry SkinSensitive SkinOct 20, 2017
It's gentle and non-irritating, allowing for a nice massage. The best part? There's absolutely no tightness, and it actually leaves my skin feeling hydrated! It seems to cleanse more chemically rather than through friction. I was a bit disappointed that it didn't have that squeaky-clean feeling. Also, since pineapple was a main ingredient, I expected a sweet and tangy scent. But it had more of a heavy, cloying fragrance... which I didn't care for. Depending on your mood or skin condition, it might be good to keep this gentle product alongside something a bit more intense. That way, you can switch between them as needed! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinJul 30, 2017
Recommended for those who want to exfoliate gently, removing just a bit of dead skin cells, and prefer a softer feel on their skin If you're looking for that smooth, 'peeled egg' feeling after exfoliation, where it seems like all your dead skin cells have been removed, I'd recommend Kiehl's Epidermal Micro-Dermabrasion instead. Personally, I found the scrubbing effect to be even less noticeable than the tiny beads in Kiehl's Deep Pore Cleanser or their whitening cleanser. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinJan 16, 2017
Instead of feeling like your skin is peeling off, it's more like dead skin cells are gently sloughing away. I have a ton of blackheads, but after using this once, they stay clear for about two days! It's a holy grail scrub! I've been wanting to leave a review, but I'm not sure why it's categorized as a sheet mask. The texture is quite thick, so you really have to squeeze and press hard to get it out of the tube. Otherwise, it just slides back in without dispensing. My routine: Cleansing water (for skin) → Cleansing oil (for eye makeup) → Foam cleanser (because I have oily skin) → Pineapple Papaya (about 3 times a week). That's usually my process, but I noticed the Pineapple Papaya lathers up when it touches water, so lately I've been skipping the foam cleanser! - vi*****Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinJul 24, 2016
Despite being a scrub, the particles are gentle and it feels really nice! I followed the instructions to leave it on for a few minutes while brushing my teeth, and when I washed it off, my skin texture felt refined and smooth. It's quite good! It's truly wonderful, but Kiehl's always has this issue with pricing! Please make your prices more affordable, Kiehl's! While I enjoyed using this product, I'm unsure about repurchasing due to the price point.
