There's no cushion that covers and hydrates the skin as well as Laura Mercier's Flawless Lumière Cushion. Today, I'm reviewing Laura Mercier's first cover cushion, the Flawless Lumière Cushion. Given that it's already ranked #1 in Japan, I was curious about the reasons for its popularity. It offers a natural, moderate coverage with easy payoff, a smooth finish with a glow, long-lasting coverage, and above all, it's a cushion that maintains hydration for a long time. It's a skincare-infused cushion that's great for protecting your skin during cold seasons when your skin can get damaged just from wearing makeup. While it does transfer a bit onto masks due to its hydrating nature, I don't consider this a real drawback since I believe there's no such thing as a hydrating cushion that doesn't transfer at all. The color turned out darker than expected, which is great because even those with shade 23 skin can use OC1 if they try. The pink tone isn't reddish, but rather a bright and pretty pink-beige that gives a radiant, not pale, bright coverage. It really shows the discerning eye of a makeup artist. As expected from a department store cushion, it has excellent quality that matches its price point. As it's a hydrating cushion, there is some transfer, which is a bit disappointing. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedDec 23, 2021
It leaves your skin hydrated with a subtle glow. When your skin is in good condition, applying a thin layer makes your complexion look amazing. The product itself is absolutely wonderful, but given the current situation where we have to wear masks, this moisturizing cushion tends to rub off on the cheeks and nose area. It seems like setting with powder is absolutely necessary. - tl******Combination SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedJul 6, 2021
1. The color is radiant and a bright pink shade. It's a perfect match for my pink undertones. I usually use shades lighter than 21 because I have fair skin, and this cushion is just right. It's incredibly luminous and definitely brighter than 21, making my complexion look absolutely beautiful!!! 2. Ultimate hydration. It offers incredible moisture without being oily, making it suitable for all skin types from oily to dry and combination. Plus, it adds a gorgeous glow. For reference, I have cool-toned combination dehydrated skin. 3. Decent coverage. Despite being hydrating, it provides medium to high coverage, effectively concealing freckles and blemishes. 4. The puff adheres like a dream. I've used cushions where the included puffs were so bad I had to throw them out and use Holika Holika cushion puffs instead. But this product's puff is amazing - it's bouncy, soft, and adheres to the skin perfectly. 5. Safe ingredients. As I've mentioned in some of my other cushion reviews, a base product with fewer than 5 harmful ingredients is considered good. Many department store cushions have 7 or more harmful or cautionary ingredients, but this one only has 3, so I'm satisfied with its formulation. The downsides are: Firstly, the price. As expected from a department store product, it's quite steep at 69,000 won for just the main product without a refill. Yikes! The refill alone costs 30,000-40,000 won. Secondly, it transfers onto masks quite badly. While this is somewhat expected from a hydrating product, it's still disappointing. Lastly, the shade. While it's a light color, around 19-21 with a pink base, it's not the completely cool-toned pink I was hoping for. It seems to have a drop of beige in it, making it more of a neutral tone. As someone who prefers a true cool tone, this is a bit disappointing. - sh******Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedJan 14, 2020
True to its name as a base makeup expert, this product applies thinly and provides hydration. It gives a radiant glow and claims 12-hour staying power. Even when oil appears later, it doesn't disappear or clump significantly, and it adheres well even to dry areas. Highly recommended for those seeking a moisturizing, adequately covering, and thin-textured product for winter! While there are many foundations, it's been really difficult to find a cushion that offers decent coverage while being thin, not too oily, and hydrating. This one isn't overly oily even for oily skin types. I love that it has the texture I've been looking for, and the ingredients aren't particularly problematic. So far, I haven't experienced any blemishes (2 weeks of use). Even my friend with dry skin finds it easy to apply when touching up for a moisturized look! Currently, there are no major drawbacks, though the moisturizing texture can leave some imprints. So far, I haven't found any significant disappointments! The puff is nice, and while it's divided for building coverage, I haven't really used that feature. I bought this product for touch-ups, so I haven't tested its long-lasting power from morning to evening. At least after 5-6 hours, it doesn't completely break down. The shade is on the lighter side! I was disappointed with Laura Mercier foundation having too much yellow undertone, but this one has a pink base, making the color really pretty.
