I've been using it as a layer on top of my cleansing toner, like an essence, as it feels lightweight and helps to lock in moisture between the toner and cream. I didn't see much effect on skin soothing with the entire Apieu Madecassoside line. My skin didn't get worse, though. If you're looking for an inexpensive and moisturizing essence, you might like it.
