This lip color has become an absolute essential in my makeup routine. I'm so afraid it might be discontinued that I always keep two backups, even though it's pricey! ✅I have a light undertone, type 13. My skin has a yellow base with a slight blue tinge. When I wear blue or green lipsticks, it brings out the blue in my skin, making my complexion look darker and dull. ▪️Color: The initial application gives a clear pink-coral hue without any grayness. It's like watermelon! However, as time passes, it evolves into a raspberry shade, leaning towards a magenta-ish pink. The more you apply, the more intense this effect becomes. I actually found the transformed color more flattering. While magenta might seem too intense or unfamiliar for some, this isn't a vivid magenta - it's more like a raspberry... definitely a pretty pink. If I had to categorize it, I'd say it's between light and bright tones. ▪️Texture: It has an essence-like consistency. Upon application, it reminded me of the old Missha Beautiful Tint or Cha Cha Tint. This essence type is thicker and more viscous than water tints. This allows for a more even application when spread with fingers. However, it does have some of the drawbacks of water tints, like partial staining, and over time, you might notice a 'yogurt effect'. ▪️Adherence: Being an essence type, it doesn't transfer much once it dries. Since it stains to create color, I didn't need to constantly worry about it wearing off during daily activities. I highly recommend this for those who suit light-toned clothes but find light-toned lipsticks too pale, or for those who've tried light undertone recommendations but ended up looking too washed out. That's exactly my case. I'm likely a light undertone with an olive complexion. Green hues, regardless of brightness or saturation, look terrible on me - even pastel green is a disaster. Olive tones like mine are said to best suit colors between warm and cool, like rosy pinks. Think Benetint-esque colors. Dior Lip Tattoo 451 falls into this category. True fuchsia doesn't suit me, and adding white to fuchsia is even worse - it looks worse than deep undertone corals on me. Anyway, since many Korean women are said to have this olive-toned summer cool skin type, those who relate to my description might want to give this a try. I've tried many other products due to the price, but always come back to this, proving that classics are classics for a reason. I love it so much and want to recommend it to others. I'd be devastated if it gets discontinued due to low sales.
Cons❌Dior isn't heavily promoting the Lip Tattoo line, so it might be discontinued at any time. In fact, some colors in the Lip Tattoo line have already been discontinued. 451 doesn't seem to be a best-seller... I'm worried it might be discontinued since it's a less popular color in an already unpopular line. ❌On days when I overline my lips, applying it above my lip line, I always seem to get a blemish in that area.
