Do you know the original purpose of BB creams? They're meant to protect and cover your skin after cosmetic procedures. Most people think BB creams are just a lighter alternative to foundation, but that's not true at all! If that's what you want, why use BB cream instead of foundation? BB creams are designed to protect your healing skin while being so gentle that you don't have to worry even if you're too lazy to wash it off before bed.
First off, my skin type:
- I'm not a dry-skinned person who easily turns red, but rather an oily, acne-prone individual.
My skin easily reddens in the sun and seems to go haywire, with blemishes popping up underneath. It's like my skin goes bad, you know?
Without sunscreen, my temperamental skin does a complete 180 the next day.
But since discovering this product, I can confidently go out bare-faced! Here's the deal:
After a solid skincare routine, use sunscreen as your first line of defense, then apply this as your second. You'll end up with skin that glows like it's drenched in moisture, with decent coverage to boot.
I regret not finding this sooner, but I'm glad I'm using it now! And for a lazy girl like me who sometimes can't be bothered to cleanse, on days when I just use my basic skincare and this, I don't worry about sleeping in it. It's designed for that, after all! Bit gross, I know, but whatever works! This is truly a holy grail item. An esthetician recommended it to me, and I can say it's my absolute favorite. It's just that good!
It's pricier than drugstore BB creams, and the cost might vary between esthetic clinics. But it's still cheaper than most BB creams sold at clinics, some of which can cost over $100. One downside is that it can make your face look a bit pale, not quite gray, but it's more about evening out skin tone than coverage since it's not a foundation.
The staying power is slightly disappointing, but for acne-prone skin, constantly applying foundation isn't great for your complexion. So for me, the peace of mind knowing I can apply this freely outweighs the slightly lacking coverage and longevity.
(Coverage and longevity < The reassurance of daily use + Energy saved by not having to remove it before bed)
That's more important to me~ I'm a bit incorrigible, aren't I?
