Tried the Estée Lauder cushion foundation after seeing YouTubers hail it as their holy grail. Here's what I love:
1. The coverage is absolutely phenomenal
2. Got both the foundation and to-go version on sale for an incredibly good price
3. It doesn't make my skin oily at all
1. The breakdown is a total disaster... pilling like crazy. I've tried various application methods, but it just doesn't work with my skin.
2. I have typical combination dehydrated skin. Right after application, it looks flawless like a peeled egg, but after just 30 minutes, it emphasizes every bit of dead skin cells... I've tried masking and exfoliating, but no luck.
3. When I touch my face, it feels super dry and tight.
4. They say it applies thinly, but in my opinion, maybe because of the good coverage, it feels incredibly thick and heavy when applied. It even looks cakey just by looking at it.
5. My face gets itchy.
6. It settles into fine lines so badly it's embarrassing.
7. Definitely won't repurchase.
It kept breaking down terribly, pilling, separating, and cracking. So I tried mixing in a drop of bio-oil before applying. It's a bit sticky, but my skin looks amazing, and there's no separation until I get home from work. There are still some spots where it clumps together slightly, but it's much better than using the foundation alone, so I'm satisfied and continuing to use it this way.
