I've been using Missha's BB cream for nearly 2-3 years. After trying various products, I found it had the best staying power and didn't break down easily! Then, inspired by Risabae's YouTube channel and the Glowpick app rankings, I decided to give this a try. Luckily, I snagged it for just 9,000 won during a sale - what a steal!
My skin type is a yellowish tone 21, with an oily T-zone and dry cheeks - basically combination dehydrated skin. I'm not exactly oily, but somewhere in the middle.
What I value most is skin appearance, color, longevity, and resistance to breakdown. The application is great - it's quite fluid, which helps it adhere well to the skin. It doesn't really separate around the nose area either! Compared to my previous favorite, Revlon Colorstay Buff, which often felt heavy, this one feels light and breathable. While it might not brighten as much as the Missha BB cream (which tends to be quite light), the color is still nice. The staying power is decent too. With an occasional touch of powder, it looks presentable all day without needing touch-ups. I love that it doesn't break down in a way that makes your skin look dirty. I always start with foundation and use BB cream for touch-ups, but I haven't properly tested how it layers yet - I'll update on that later. Definitely a product I'd repurchase!
Being quite fluid, it can leave slight finger marks during application. Depending on your skin condition, it might separate a bit around the nose area some days. Compared to the Missha BB cream, it doesn't create as flawless a finish. If the BB cream gives you that smooth, bouncy, porcelain-like skin (think peeled egg), this one leaves more of a powdery finish. Because of this, it can feel a bit drying. It's a matter of preference, but I personally prefer the more hydrating feel of the Missha BB cream. That said, it doesn't particularly emphasize skin imperfections. While the color is fine, if I had to compare, I think the Revlon Colorstay Buff has a really beautiful shade among foundations. Oh, and I did get some small blemishes in the first few days of use, but I had also changed up my skincare routine at that time, so I'm not sure if it was due to the foundation. They've stopped appearing now!
I use a damp sponge from Watson's to pat the foundation onto my face after dotting it around. Depending on my skin condition, on good days it creates a really beautiful, velvety finish. Afterwards, I use a dry sponge to pat it in again for better adherence.
