~ My review of Etude Double Lasting Foundation after using it for a year ~
First, let me describe my skin:
▪️Oily T-zone
▪️Large pores with blackheads on nose and cheeks
▪️Combination dehydrated skin with deep dryness
▪️Thick skin
▪️Prioritize long-lasting coverage
▪️Not prone to blemishes, but have some acne scars
⭐ For those short on time, check the summary at the end!
🔸Coverage: While I don't focus too much on coverage, I think it does a decent job of concealing most imperfections
🔸Color: I use shade 21, which is slightly lighter than typical 21 shades. Perfect for those who find standard 21 a bit dark
🔸Staying power: This is crucial for me! I've tried it with various skincare products, and the base really affects its longevity (I'll share my holy grail combo below). It generally lasts 3-4 hours at minimum, which is good compared to other foundations I've used
🔸Price: Absolutely great value for money. Perfect for students - I bought it without high expectations due to the price, but it became my go-to!
🔸Skin appearance: As someone with oily skin, it seems to control oil production well. Not sure if it's because I apply it thickly, but it gives that impression
🔸Scent: Just a pleasant cosmetic smell, nothing offensive. Even those sensitive to fragrances should find it tolerable
▫️I prefer a lighter, more natural-looking application
🔹Skin appearance: In my opinion, it applies a bit thick
Doesn't break down much, but tends to settle into nose creases
🔹Highlights dead skin cells if you don't prep your skin properly - my fault for poor skincare routine
🔹Ingredients: Not the best. After using this foundation for a week, I noticed a few blemishes popping up. Not recommended for daily use
I've tried this foundation with various skincare routines, and I'll share the best method I've found. I'm being super generous with this info!
▫️ Toner (applied with cotton pad following skin's texture) → Light emulsion (small amount) → Base (I use the famous Etude Glow On Base) → Primer only on nose area (Innisfree No Sebum Primer) → Foundation → Setting spray (So Natural All Day Fixing Spray, another popular product) → Done
▫️This routine keeps the makeup intact from morning till late evening
▫️For best application, use a damp beauty sponge or thin foundation brush
Try patting the foundation in with the brush on its side, like Lisa Eldridge demonstrates - it works wonders!
⭐ Summary: Just buy it, folks! I recommend trying it at least as a daily foundation
It's reasonably priced and performs well overall
Good staying power and nice finish. With proper skincare prep, it could become your holy grail
