Skin type: Sensitive / Very dry / Atopic / No acne
I'm thrilled that Hanyul, a brand typically associated with the 30-40 age group, has expanded its appeal to younger consumers with this Moonlight Yuzu collection!
- Scent: Upon opening, you're greeted with an intense yuzu fragrance. Thankfully, it's not off-putting as poorly blended scents can be. However, it's so strong that applying it feels like you've spilled yuzu tea on your face!
- Texture: Similar to other tube-type sleeping masks, it has a bouncy, slightly sticky consistency. It's not too thick and feels very hydrating - almost like touching water slime! The presence of yuzu peel-colored particles makes it seem like they've literally ground up a whole yuzu. It adheres well to the skin when applied with a rolling motion, without sliding off.
- Ingredients: Honestly, the strong scent made me skeptical about the ingredients, but I was pleasantly surprised! It's remarkable that they've avoided artificial components. They've actually used real yuzu peel oil and extract - who would have thought?
- Hydration: The moisture level is fantastic. There might be a slight slippery feeling initially, but after sleeping with it on, you'll wake up to silky smooth skin. What I love most is that there's no residue the next morning, and absolutely no deep dryness. It's perfect for replenishing hydration!
- Packaging: It's clean and pretty, like a yellow version of the Young Mugwort Soothing Cream. It gives the impression of cosmetics dressed in traditional Korean colors, avoiding an artificial look. The pajama merchandise released alongside it is particularly adorable!
- Due to its high moisture content, it tends to transfer onto pillowcases during sleep.
- A spatula would have been a nice addition.
- It may sting slightly when applied to blemishes. It's best to avoid using it after extracting pimples, which suggests it doesn't have significant soothing properties.
- The strong yuzu scent might be polarizing.
Apart from these points, I consider it a nearly perfect product.
For better absorption, apply immediately after cleansing, using a steamed towel to open up your pores first.
