A slightly acidic cleanser is best for balancing skin pH. (Balancing oil, moisture, and pH is fundamental for skin health!) Among low pH cleansers, this one offers great ingredients at a good price. You can buy it as needed, so there's less worry about expiration dates. It's a beloved item I'll even pack for trips, despite the larger tube size.
The main drawback is its weak cleansing power, but I'm using it with Pi's cleansing tips to compensate.
How to boost cleansing effectiveness: 1. Mix with oil: Add a drop or two of natural oil (not oil-like products) before lathering. I dislike pore-clogging oils, so I use jojoba oil (from Sidmool). I keep it in separate bottles in the bathroom and at my vanity. This helps dissolve makeup stuck to the skin (there's even a TV experiment about this - check Pi's blog!). 2. Use a small pore brush: After rinsing your face, put the foam cleanser and oil mix on the back of your hand. Apply it to trouble spots (around the nose, between eyebrows, chin) with the brush. Use your hands to lather and cleanse the rest of your face thoroughly. Since adopting this routine, my skin - previously plagued by blemishes and dead skin cells - has improved dramatically. Now I don't even get breakouts during my period, achieving what I'd call 'normal' skin!
