This is likely due to its high moisture content, which requires a bit more time to be fully absorbed by the skin. I typically use one pump on each cheek, and when I want extra hydration, I'll layer it twice. Even with layering, it doesn't feel heavy and doesn't cause pilling when applying makeup.
