I'll provide more insights on its effectiveness after my skin condition improves. <Ingredients> Impressively, it contains nearly 80% (79.88%) apple water instead of purified water, and the hyaluronic acid is plant-based. I chose this product out of curiosity about apple water when applying for The Hwahae Testers. Being a vegan cosmetic with all ingredients rated EWG Green, it's quite reassuring from an ingredient standpoint. Panthenol, aloe vera leaf juice, and green tea extract seem to help soothe the skin, while small amounts of broccoli seed oil, chia seed oil, and borage seed oil work together to prevent moisture evaporation. <Texture> One drop from the dropper is enough to cover the entire face, indicating excellent spreadability. The texture is similar to typical ampoules. Perhaps due to the hyaluronic acid, it feels slippery at first, but it absorbs almost instantly when fully spread, leaving no stickiness. <Scent> Since we use skincare products morning and night, many people are sensitive to fragrance. For an objective assessment, I had my family members try it. I'm not sensitive to scents and barely noticed any smell. However, a fragrance-sensitive family member described the initial scent as slightly unpleasant, but noted it doesn't linger and isn't bothersome. If you smell the serum bottle directly, there's a faint scent, somewhat reminiscent of a hospital smell. I suspect it might be from the mountain pepper leaf extract, the second most abundant ingredient. In any case, there's no strong fragrance unless you put your nose right up to it. <Hydration> True to its 'Aqua Splash' name, it provides good hydration. Those with oily skin might find the serum alone sufficient without feeling tight. However, given the current season, I applied my usual cream to areas needing extra moisture like around the eyes and mouth. I've used several hyaluronic acid products, and while this may have less surface-level moisture compared to pure hyaluronic acid, it seems beneficial for deep hydration. Those with dry skin might need to layer a cream over this product to lock in moisture.
Cons<Drawbacks> After using it in the evening, I noticed red allergic reactions on my eyelids the next morning. I initially blamed my sensitive skin due to frequent mask use. When I had my sister try it, who has thicker, oilier skin than mine, she developed small bumps around her eyebrows. The ingredients in the apple water might be irritating for sensitive skin. I wouldn't recommend this product if you currently have sensitive skin - Huxley's Calming Days might be a better option. While I'd like to try all the ampoule varieties, the price of 26,000 won for 15ml seems a bit steep. If you're doing the 7-skin method, it wouldn't last even a week. For functional ampoules targeting whitening or wrinkles, you might use less, but for a hydrating ampoule, usage tends to be higher. They should offer 1+1 promotions more frequently.
TipIt feels great when applied right after washing your face and lightly patting dry, skipping toner. It could be helpful for minimalist skincare routines. This product alone might be sufficient before makeup in summer. It should provide lightweight yet lasting hydration before applying sunscreen or cushion foundation. If you have sensitive skin, definitely patch test before use. Huxley offers various ampoules for boosting, soothing, hydrating, moisturizing, brightening, blemish control, and exfoliating, so it's good to choose based on your skin's daily needs and the season.
