This is a review from The Hwahae Testers. I'm in my mid-30s with super sensitive combination dehydrated skin. My complexion is on the darker side (shade 23) with some redness. In winter, I need to apply rich creams to my dry areas to prevent deep dryness. 1. Packaging It comes in a standard tube container with a clean design. 2. Texture My first impression was that it's very similar to Innisfree's True Care Non-Nano Sunscreen. It has a thick cream texture with a beige tint, making it a my-skin-but-better style sunscreen. Those who prefer white-tinted products might have mixed feelings about this. 3. Scent There's a subtle floral scent. Although there's no fragrance listed in the ingredients, it has a pleasant, inoffensive aroma - not grassy at all. 4. Application and Feel Due to its thick consistency, you need to spread it well. Rather than gliding on smoothly like a milk-type product, it feels like it's creating a protective layer on the skin. Again, very similar to the Innisfree Non-Nano sunscreen. It does leave a white cast, which gives a brightening effect. Personally, I don't mind the white cast (it's characteristic of mineral sunscreens), but if you dislike it, make sure to blend it in well. After application, it leaves a slightly dewy finish (also similar to the Innisfree sunscreen). It's fine under makeup, but wearing it alone might feel a bit too shiny for some. Hydration level right after application is high, but it does dry down over time. It's not as drying as Dr.G Green Mild Up Sun or Make:prem sunscreen, which became uncomfortable for me after a while. I guess some dryness is inevitable with mineral sunscreens after some time. No blemishes or eye irritation during the two weeks I used it. 5. Makeup Compatibility Above average The sunscreen that worked best under makeup for me was Espoir Water Splash, but it contains silicones which occasionally caused blemishes. Dr. Alga's sunscreen, despite being silicone-free, still works well under makeup. No pilling or breakdown. It pairs better with semi-matte foundations than dewy ones.
The dewy finish it leaves is a bit disappointing. It's difficult to wear on its own without makeup. When applying makeup, it can feel like it's creating a slightly thick base. Price. Considering the full price, it's too similar to Innisfree True Care Non-Nano in my opinion, making it feel a bit overpriced.
