Although it's a lip balm formula, I'm satisfied with the color payoff. It doesn't accentuate dead skin cells and keeps my lips moisturized.
ConsWith a name like 'Red Spinel', I expected a vibrant red shade. However, it's more of a coral-leaning pink... or just pink, really. It comes off easily and transfers a lot.

Plus, if you apply the gloss stick and wait a few minutes before blotting with a tissue, it looks just like your natural lip color! I went to school using this method and passed right through the gates. It didn't smudge at all while eating!
ConsIt's a bit on the pricey side, and unfortunately, the amount you get is quite small. The color payoff is also weak, so you need to apply multiple layers, which quickly uses up the product. When swatched on the hand, it's clearly coral, but on the lips, it turns into a pink with just a hint of coral.
TipIf you apply the gloss stick to your lips, blot it with a tissue until it doesn't transfer, and then apply lip balm, you'll get moisturized lips without any transfer.

The best thing about this product is how incredibly moisturizing it feels! While I used to reach for velvety lip products on cold days, in this spring weather, I find myself craving glossy, hydrating lip products. This feels perfect for the milder weather we're experiencing now. I think it would provide excellent hydration even in winter.
ConsThe disappointing aspect was that despite being named 'Red Spinel', the color appears more pink. It's not a red shade at all, but rather in the pink family. However, as someone with a warm-toned, yellow undertone complexion (likely a Spring Bright), I found it quite flattering! Although it's pink, the color is ambiguous enough that it seems suitable for both warm and cool skin tones, making it versatile for many people.
TipThe clean-looking color and pigmentation made my complexion appear brighter. Especially when applied over just sunscreen with minimal skin prep, it gives off a natural, fresh-faced look that exudes innocence - as if you're not wearing makeup, but still looking your best.

(Sorry Hwahae!) ※It was good. It is good. It will continue to be good. 1. I am the queen of dead skin cells. Even if I exfoliate the night before, by the afternoon after applying lip makeup, white eraser dust appears. 2. I have fragile lip skin that blisters at the slightest fatigue. However, after switching to Laneige Stained Glasstick for my lip makeup, I quickly realized that using tints that didn't match my lip type was causing havoc. (Indeed, lips are skin too... why did I neglect lip care while meticulously attending to skincare basics?) 1. First off, this beauty is a sight to behold. The radiance of both the packaging and the product is truly luxurious and vibrant. Opening the cap, which reminds one of a magical wand, reveals a color between scarlet and vermilion. If you haven't used it yet, you'll find yourself applauding the Laneige development team for the amethyst-like, multi-faceted shape of the product. 2. The texture is incredibly smooth. It's more velvety than your average lip balm, laying down existing dead skin cells like grass and making minor flakes insignificant. 3. The staying power is decent (with multiple applications). After applying about 5 layers and eating something, about 70% of the color remained. Of course, I enjoyed my meal thoroughly. 4. The fragrance is close to that of fresh roses. Sniff, sniff. Now, two weeks into using it, not only have I had no blemishes, but my dead skin cells have noticeably decreased. However, I don't have anyone to kiss
ConsI have a cool-toned complexion that's lighter than my face covered with 13 shade foundation. I was surprised at the initial color payoff. Why does this color turn into that? Unlike the reddish swatches on Laneige's official website, it appeared more purple on me. Rather than Red Spinel, it's more like Azalea Spinel. My poor phone camera is the biggest disappointment. No matter how I try to capture it, it's difficult to show its true color. I'm hesitant to include swatches as it might confuse potential buyers. No, I'll include the most neutral one.
TipEven on days when my lips are chapped or cracked, it covers roughness so well that I don't need a separate lip balm. While its excellent hydration might make you neglect applying lip protectants, I'm sure you savvy readers will diligently take care of your lip health? That's actually the best tip! +) I bow deeply in gratitude to the Hwahae editors who selected me for The Hwahae Testers and to the Laneige team members who developed this great product.

After using it for a week, I found it to be an excellent product for a quick, natural look when going out. It applies smoothly even over dead skin cells, and it's perfect when your lips are dry! I didn't experience any itching or blisters on my lips. It applies like a tinted lip balm - moisturizing without being sticky. Surprisingly, it has some color payoff! However, due to its hydrating formula, the staying power is a bit lacking. I needed to reapply after having a cup of coffee. The scent is a subtle floral fragrance, making it feel like applying skincare. Despite its 'Red Spinel' name, it appears more pink on the lips. On the wrist, it shows as a pinkish coral-red, turning more coral-pink with multiple swipes. The packaging looks luxurious, almost oversized compared to the actual product amount. It's quite long, so it didn't fit entirely in my palm - I kept it in my makeup pouch instead.
ConsThere are too many potential allergens for those with sensitive lips. I was expecting a true red, but it's closer to a coral-pink, which is disappointing. Personally, I dislike even the slightest shimmer in lip products, so that was a downside for me. It's also a bit pricey to use as a tinted lip balm. Considering the value for money, it leaves something to be desired!

First off, the packaging is incredibly sleek and beautiful. The scent is delightfully sweet, reminiscent of candy. The texture is unique - not quite a lipstick, not quite a gloss, but more like a lip balm. It reminds me of Nivea lip balm, if that helps you imagine it! The color is a clear cherry shade. When applied, it has a pink undertone and the pearls give a shimmering effect, making your lips sparkle. It's so moisturizing that you don't need to apply a separate lip balm. Despite its balm-like texture, I was surprised to find that it leaves a slight pink tint even after wiping with a wet wipe. The thinner stick compared to regular lipsticks makes it easier to apply on the lips. The intensity of the color seems to vary depending on how you apply it. For a natural look, you can just dab it on lightly to add a healthy flush of color. If you apply more, you get a deeper pink-red shade.
ConsWhile the case is sparkly and attractive, it's prone to fingerprints and can look dirty quickly. Although it's moisturizing, you'll still need to exfoliate your lips regularly for the best results. Also, it's more of a pink-red than a coral-red, which might not suit everyone, especially those with warm undertones.
TipFor longer-lasting wear, try applying it over a lip tint. This will give you moisturized, glossy lips with enhanced staying power.

I loved the sleek case that doesn't show fingerprints. The color payoff is hydrating and gives a glass-like shine, with a subtle initial application that looks natural. I'd recommend this to those who prefer a moisturizing formula. My lips are usually dry, so I typically apply lip balm before lipstick, but this product is so hydrating that I don't need to. It doesn't settle into fine lines, which is great! When I first applied it, it reminded me of YSL Rouge Volupté Shine, with a similar scent, but Laneige has a lighter color payoff. The narrow applicator made it easy to apply. Layering intensifies the color and brings out more of the pink tones. I found it looked beautiful when I topped it with MAC's Relentlessly Red. When paired with a matte lipstick, the staying power wasn't bad, though on its own it doesn't last very long.
ConsI was disappointed that despite 'red' being in the name, it's more of a pink shade. Apart from that, it was fine.
TipThis product gives a natural tint to the lips, making it perfect for a bare-faced look. It's also great as a lip balm substitute.

What's amazing is that despite the material, it doesn't pick up fingerprints, so it stays clean and pristine. It's truly top-notch! When you open it, the lipstick is beautifully cut like a diamond, though that disappears after the first use (can't be helped, but it's a bit of a shame). The color payoff isn't super intense when applied, but that might be because my natural lip color is quite deep. I found I needed to layer it a few times to get the color to really show up. However, the glow it gives is fantastic - it's almost like wearing a lip gloss, with a beautiful shine. If you love a natural, shimmery lip look, this is for you. It's marketed as a lipstick with tint-like staining properties, which might explain its impressive staying power. I was surprised to find that even after eating, both the color and the glow were still going strong!
ConsThe color swatches on the website showed an orange-red, but on my lips it comes out as a very cool pink. When I first applied it, I thought they'd sent me the wrong shade! That said, I tend to use a light base that works with most tones, so it doesn't look out of place even though I'm warm-toned. There's a strong peach iced tea scent when you apply it. While the sweet fragrance isn't unpleasant, those sensitive to scents should be cautious.
TipI've included a photo to show off the glow. I usually avoid hand swatches because they never capture the cool pink accurately and tend to look more red (which is frustrating). I was going to skip it altogether, but this one seems to be somewhat close. Just know that in reality, it's an even hotter pink than what you see here.
