The whitening effect remains to be seen with continued use, but the hydration did make my face look brighter temporarily. And in my case, when I use fermented cosmetic products like the purple ampoule from M*, my face keeps tingling, and I end up washing it off. But this product didn't tingle at all. For dry skin types, this product may only be suitable for use in the hot summer, and not in the winter. Oily skin types may also have trouble using this in the very cold winter.
