Here's a review from The Hwahae Testers! (This review is based on usage from March 22-28, 2019.) For reference, I have combination dehydrated skin prone to blemishes and sensitivity. 🔔 Design, Texture, and Absorption - The design features Dr. Jart's signature simple green bottle (the contents are also green). I personally liked the twist-up dropper as it's easier to control the amount and feels cleaner than rubber droppers. - The 30ml volume might seem small for the price, but since it's a cica serum, I only applied it to blemish-prone areas, so it was sufficient. - The scent is herbal but not overpowering. The texture is quite fluid. I heard it contains oil, which gives it a slight slippery feel when applying (reminiscent of face oils). As someone with oily skin, I usually don't prefer this, but for a serum containing oil, it finishes surprisingly fresh, so I used it without concern. 🔔 Hydration - The texture is fluid and moisturizing, which felt a bit heavy for me. I only used it for night care. (Being a serum, it felt a bit heavy for morning use on my oily skin!) - It provides decent hydration, though I experienced a slight tingling sensation for the first two days. I think this was an adjustment period, and it was fine afterward. (I've had similar experiences with other cica products, likely due to skin adapting to the cica ingredients.) 🔔 Blemish Improvement - As you can see in the marked areas of the photos, there's significant improvement. (I took photos two days apart for accurate results.) Even to the naked eye, the blemishes have reduced and the surrounding redness has faded. - I typically get severe, cystic acne during my period instead of cramps. This time, a big one popped up right when I won the tester opportunity, so I tried it out. Even people around me noticed how quickly the large blemish subsided. - While it didn't affect old acne scars, it showed some effectiveness on newly formed blemishes. 🔔💊 Final Thoughts - It's a moisturizing serum with a slight oil content but a fresh finish, making it suitable even for oily skin types (recommended for night care). - It's effective on sudden breakouts but not so much on acne scars. - There was a slight tingling sensation for the first two days of use (which disappeared after).
- Considering the price and volume, the effects weren't dramatic. While effective on newly formed blemishes, I wouldn't recommend it for those looking to improve closed comedones or acne scars. - Although it finishes relatively fresh, the oil content made me hesitant to use it for morning care as someone with combination dehydrated skin. (Oily skin types, please take note!) - Above all, the final absorption felt a bit slow. - The texture might suit dry skin types better than oily ones. For oily skin types who are curious about this product, I strongly advise checking multiple reviews before purchasing!
💊I only used this for night care.💊 - Personally, when I used only the 'Dr. Jart Cicapair Serum', I felt some deep dryness on the first day, so I made sure to apply a moisturizing cream and sleeping pack!! 🔔 My Night Care Routine 🔔 Toner -> Cicapair Serum -> Moisturizing Cream -> Sleeping Pack - As someone with combination dehydrated skin, I've experienced breakouts from using too heavy products even for night care, so I prefer products with lighter, fresher textures. - Especially after the serum, I use 'Innisfree Green Tea Balancing Cream', which provides light hydration after applying an oil-containing serum. (Note: This might feel too light for dry skin types!) - For sleeping pack, I use 'Round Lab Dokdo Sleeping Pack'. Personally, I found this combination of products after the serum resulted in the best finish with minimal deep dryness. ♥️ Summary ♥️ - The 'Dr. Jart Cicapair Serum' worked best when followed by hydrating products. - For those with combination dehydrated or oily skin, the texture might be too heavy for morning care, so I recommend using it for night care along with a moisturizing cream.
