Luna, known for their concealers, has created a cushion that maintains the concealer's functionality while ensuring excellent adherence to the skin. I was really excited about this! I also compared it with Luna's concealer I have at home. The package includes both the cushion product and a refill.

Right: Luna Long Lasting Concealwear Cushion 21 Light Beige
Both are the lightest shades, but the concealer has a more yellow tint with a hint of gray and a neutral tone, while the Concealwear Cushion is slightly more pink-ivory, flesh-toned. It feels like a typical 21 shade.
Advantages of the Concealwear Cushion:
- Application: When I first pressed the puff into it, I expected it to sink in deeply like other cushions, but it was surprisingly shallow. This resulted in a thin layer on the puff, which applied very thinly and evenly on the skin. It breaks the stereotype that high-coverage cushions apply thickly! It provides just the right amount for a thin, natural skin finish.
- Coverage: True to its Concealwear name, it offers fairly high coverage. Most skin blemishes and scars can be naturally concealed with just a thin layer. I was particularly satisfied with how naturally it covered dark circles.
- Non-drying and non-cakey: This product has a slightly glowy finish, which might be why it doesn't feel dry. Even though I have extremely dry skin and often feel dryness with even ampoule-rich products, I didn't feel any dryness even after wearing this for over 15 hours. Moreover, because it applies thinly and is quite moisturizing, it absolutely never cakes up even with rough application. The color is light but natural, so there's no 'makeup floating' effect at all.
- Design: Unlike most round cushions, this one comes in a luxurious square case which I really like. The semi-matte black and gold combination with a magnetic closure is sleek and elegant.
Drawbacks:
- Texture and finish: Usually, high-coverage cushions or foundations are expected to be matte or powdery, right? This one actually has a glowy finish. It's not extremely oily, but it does give a natural skin glow. I prefer a more matte style, so I was surprised by how glowy it was, but this is really a matter of personal preference. Due to the glowy finish, there is some breakdown in hot weather. Also, it feels like there's a slight film on the skin.
- Coverage: While coverage is both a pro and a con for this product, I've listed it here because it doesn't provide perfect coverage. It covers most small blemishes well, but it's not as thick or perfect as, say, Double Wear foundation. I still had to use Luna's concealer on top for complete coverage.
- Slight texture issues: When I wore only this and came back home at night, I noticed small bumps on the outer parts of my cheeks. The skin on my cheeks temporarily became rough. While this could be due to wearing a mask, I didn't experience this with other products, so there might be some ingredients that don't agree with my skin or that clog pores causing these small bumps.
- Highly recommended for those looking for a cushion with coverage + non-drying + natural glow without being matte or dry! It applies thinly so it doesn't cake, and the color is natural so it absolutely never looks cakey.
- Also recommended for those who always find their makeup caking up, and for makeup beginners!
