Rather than applying it all over the face, it's better to squeeze a small amount onto a cotton swab and apply it thickly on the reddened areas before going to bed, as this helps reduce the redness.

The amount is too small to cover the entire face, so it only alleviates the redness in the affected areas.

However, for severely dehydrated skin, it's best not to apply it alone, and layering would be better.
Surprisingly, it also helped calm my breakouts, and it worked much better than the cream I got from the dermatologist, and I could use it on its own.
