DONGINBI 1899 single essence

I've been using it since its launch. I'm using the sample that came with the full-size product since I've used up the original, so the photo is just of the sample. I really hate anything sticky, but this has a watery, thin formula that absorbs quickly and feels great to use. I don't like applying a lot of different products, so I've been using this as a substitute for toner. It's not like I'm just slapping it on and that's it - I do apply it a couple of times since I have dry skin, but it keeps my skin hydrated. The ginseng scent is also faint and not at all bothersome. I didn't even realize I liked the ginseng scent until now. The person I gifted it to also really liked it.

The price is a bit high. Considering the ginseng ingredient, it's not outrageously expensive, but coming from someone who usually just uses drugstore products, it feels a bit pricey. The thin formula means it disappears quickly, which is a bit of a downside.

I tried a large sample I received at the department store. It's a very watery type of essence, but despite its thin consistency, I was surprised by how moisturizing, bouncy, and nourishing it felt. If the formula suits you, it's definitely worth a try.

First of all, the ginseng scent is too strong. It's going to be a love-it-or-hate-it situation, and I'm firmly in the hate camp. Even though it's a sample, the large volume dispenses a lot at once due to the wide opening, which bothers me a bit. For my oily skin, it feels heavy, even though the formula is thin. There's also a noticeable oily feel to it.
