It's great at absorbing excess oil. I loved how cleanly and gently it washed off. The subtle herbal scent was also quite pleasant. There was a bit of irritation when I first used it. I was startled as it felt like I had applied some harsh chemicals, but after enduring for about a minute, it settled down. - ne*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinFeb 23, 2023
The scent is somewhat pleasant, but that's about it. It's not as sophisticated as Aesop hand cream. The thin texture makes it easy to spread. I expected a volcanic ash feel, but as soon as I applied it, it stung like I'd smeared toothpaste on my face... Absolutely terrible. It was so irritating that I debated washing it off immediately, but curiosity about its effects made me fan my face for 5 minutes. The best money-saving tip: don't buy it at all. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinJan 12, 2023
Compared to other clay masks, this one is gentler and rinses off easily with water. To be honest, I'm not sure what's so great about it. As soon as I apply the mask, my face feels an intense burning sensation. This seems to be a common experience for most users, though it does subside as the mask dries. I wonder if the cooling effect is so strong that it actually feels hot... I wouldn't really recommend this product. For best results, apply a thin, even layer to ensure it dries properly. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinFeb 13, 2022
It absorbs incredibly smoothly, and after using it, you can definitely feel your skin becoming smoother and improved. It's really... too painful. It gets a bit better after two or three minutes, but initially, it's beyond tingling - it's so painful that I don't think I can repurchase it. - ji**********Dry SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsDark CirclesWrinkles/ElasticityRecommendedSep 29, 2021
1. After using it, my skin feels incredibly soft and smooth. It gives the impression of refining skin texture. 2. Some reviews mentioned a tingling sensation, but I didn't experience any irritation at all. Instead, it felt quite gentle. It has a mud mask-like quality. 3. It spreads very easily. A small amount goes a long way, so even though the container is small, it lasts for a long time. 1. I'm not sure if it has any particular effect on pores. 2. The price is admittedly on the higher side. - sk****Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedSep 25, 2021
I got this product on recommendation during a treatment at Aesop Spa. The scent is lovely (typical Aesop fragrance) and it's a deep cleansing product. When I use it in the evening, I can definitely feel my pores are cleaner when I wash my face the next morning. The strong scent is both a pro and a con. It's so intense that I worry about the fragrance ingredients. Also, when you first apply it, there's an extreme burning sensation before it dries, which makes me hesitant to use it frequently. Use this when you want to give your pores a thorough cleanse! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedAug 3, 2021
This is the ultimate clay mask. The scent is absolutely divine. The consistency is just right - not too thick for a clay mask. Even with my super sensitive skin prone to deep dryness, I could use this mask comfortably. When applied in a thin layer, it dries quickly, visibly tightening pores. It's also a breeze to wash off with water. Definitely worth every penny! The price point is a bit steep, so I'd recommend going for the larger size to get more bang for your buck. For a perfect deep cleansing routine, exfoliate first, then use a pore strip to remove blackheads and whiteheads, and finish with this mask to thoroughly clean out your pores. - su**********Dry SkinJul 4, 2021
First off, its effectiveness in removing dead skin cells and whiteheads is truly dramatic. After using the mask, your skin feels incredibly smooth, and it even draws out hidden sebum, giving you a deep pore cleanse that leaves your skin feeling remarkably clean. However, the immediate tingling and burning sensation you feel upon application makes you question whether to continue using this mask. It takes about 15 minutes for the mask to dry, and enduring that time can be quite uncomfortable! Also, it doesn't seem suitable for those with dry skin. This isn't a mask that provides nourishment or hydration, but rather one that removes impurities from the face, making it more satisfying for those with oily skin. If you have oily skin and use it consistently, you're likely to see good results. For those with dry skin, it might be best to use occasionally for pore cleansing and dead skin cell removal purposes. - eh*******Combination SkinRecommendedJan 8, 2021
This product is fantastic! I bought it after trying a sample recommended by a store associate. Although it's a bit of a hassle being a wash-off mask, the results are surprisingly good, so I keep using it consistently. The name 'Cleansing Mask' might make you think it's for removing makeup, but it's actually a mud mask. It definitely cleans out the pores, and I've been using it twice a week for about a month. I think if you keep up with this care routine, you might see your pores shrink. While I enjoyed the refreshing and cooling sensation, those with super sensitive skin might find it irritating. I've been using this Primrose mask after opening up my pores with cleansing oil and cleaning out blackheads (you can actually see the blackheads coming out, wow!). It works really well! - ck********Combination SkinSensitive SkinOct 9, 2020
It seems to rinse off easily after applying and letting it dry When I used it, my skin felt more tingling than I expected
