It was revealed that some top-ranked Hwahae Trial Reviewer products had less than half the actual SPF protection they claimed, so I decided to take a break from Korean sunscreens for a while.
During this time, the international brand Nivea sunscreen has been getting a lot of attention for its excellent protection, so I decided to try it out and I'm very satisfied.
Nivea is known for its famous sunscreens, but this one is formulated for dry skin. The application is not bad - it's not a lotion-like texture, but a typical sunscreen texture, slightly thick and oily.
Experts say that to achieve this level of protection, the formula needs to have this kind of texture. Lightweight, watery textures like moisturizers or lotions would make it very difficult to get such high protection.
Since it's for dry skin, it's quite oily, so keep that in mind. But I love that aspect and included it as a pro.
Even in the bitterly cold winter with dry indoor air, it maintains a subtle glow and my skin doesn't look dull. And since it's a mineral sunscreen, there's no white cast.
The makeup application is also very smooth and seamless, without any slipping or pilling. I'm really pleased with that aspect too.
The price is affordable and it's easily accessible, so I'm sticking with this for the winter season.
