As someone with oily skin that rarely reacts to aloe gel, I surprisingly experienced mild side effects. My mother once applied aloe to a wound (though I'm not sure why she used cosmetics on an injury) and it resulted in keloid scarring, so it might be a genetic sensitivity. I sometimes get small bumps from it, which is why I generally avoid soothing gels. However, I can comfortably use B.plane's Cica Full Gel on my face without issues.
The photos show my shoulder from August 9th to yesterday. I usually get minor blemishes from various sunscreens, so I typically cover up with a cap and use easily removable products when necessary. Last month, I unexpectedly went on a trip with a friend. I applied sunscreen but forgot that my current products aren't waterproof. Oh dear.
After swimming in the sea, I spent the whole day walking, driving, and boating with exposed shoulders. The result was this irritated skin on my shoulders and arms, with a clear line where my eco-bag strap was. The left side, which was exposed to the car window, was particularly sore and red. Upon closer inspection, I noticed small blisters forming.
Fearing it would peel and recalling childhood summers when sunburns led to inflammation, I generously applied the Cica Full Gel followed by a moisturizer for a month. My arms and right shoulder (last photo) have returned to normal!
The left shoulder, which was more severely burned, is slowly recovering from a dehydrated, tanned state. Thankfully, the heat dissipated within two days, quickly alleviating the pain. Most importantly, it didn't peel! The tiny blisters that formed on the first day dried up without bursting. While this might be slowing down the color recovery, as someone prone to inflammation, I'm thrilled it didn't peel.
The cooling effect upon application was great, and it absorbs quickly without drying out immediately, which I really appreciate.
Unlike other soothing gels that dry out quickly after absorption, B.plane's Cica Full Gel performs better in this aspect. I've been using it on my face throughout the summer, especially when temperatures exceeded 30°C. However, it does dry faster than a moisturizer, so I paired it with a bamboo ampoule.
I'm very satisfied with it.
As the temperature fluctuations increase and mask-wearing becomes less necessary, I'll probably switch back to my usual face cream by the end of the month. But this product was incredibly useful for reducing heat and lowering skin temperature.
It's my second favorite B.plane product after their mung bean foam. Since it's not burdensome to reapply, I carry it with me. I started with the 20ml size, but the 80ml I bought from Hwahae is a bit large to carry around.
When the product is almost finished, the residue inside the container doesn't flow down as easily as other gel products.
When used alone on the face, it can feel a bit drying. (However, it's the least drying among all the gels I've tried.)
When using on the face, it's great to combine with a hydrating ampoule. I like to pair a soothing product with a hydrating one. I find this combination works better for long-term use and skin condition than using products with similar functions.
Applying generously on a beauty pad and using it as a mask is excellent for reducing skin heat.
