I'm really pleased with this product, even though I can't use it too often due to its high retinol content. While I don't have any specific complaints, those with super sensitive skin might need to be careful about how frequently they use it. - cj********Combination SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRecommendedMay 30, 2025
1. I found that 0.3% retinol was not irritating for me, perhaps because I have become accustomed to retinoids in medications. The instructions said to apply an amount the size of a pea (quite a lot). For the first 2 weeks, I was told to apply it every other day, then daily after that. On days when my skin felt sensitive, I tried applying the non-prescription retinol in a pea-sized amount, and it didn't sting or cause any issues. 2. There is a scent. It's a bit hard to describe, but it's not unpleasant. 3. The combination of 0.3% retinol and 2% bakuchiol is excellent for improving fine lines and boosting skin elasticity. It leaves the skin soft and smooth, and long-term use can help reduce signs of aging. I really liked that it contains soothing ingredients and peptides. The gentle formula makes it suitable for those with sensitive skin. 4. The Hwahae Testers' Clinical 0.3% Retinol + 2% Bakuchiol Treatment is an ideal product for users seeking to improve wrinkles and enhance skin firmness. The scientifically-proven ingredient combination provides effective results, and consistent use can help maintain skin health and youthfulness. While the price and initial skin response should be considered, it is evaluated as a highly effective choice for anti-aging care. Due to the nature of products containing retinol, you may experience skin sensitivity when using them for the first time, and an adjustment period may be necessary. The prices are somewhat higher, which may be a factor to consider when making the initial purchase. - rh********Oily SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedMay 4, 2025
I had been using a milder retinol product but didn't see much effect, so I decided to try this Paula's Choice product, which is more of a mid-level strength. With retinol and bakuchiol, I thought it would be perfect for my oily, thick skin. However, after a few days of use, my cheekbone area turned red and my skin texture actually became rougher, with small bumps appearing. I applied two pumps all over my face, which might have been too much. I've stopped using it for now, and my skin is calming down. Once it's fully healed, I plan to try again by mixing just one pump with my regular moisturizer to help my skin adapt. For retinol products, I recommend starting with smaller amounts or using them every other day to avoid sensitivity issues. Applying too much or using on irritated skin can cause immediate reactions! - he********Combination SkinSensitive SkinRednessRecommendedMar 18, 2025
Here's my review after 3 weeks of use. I have sensitive skin with slight redness. To cut to the chase, the effects are incredible and noticeable right away. However, if you have sensitive skin like me, you must apply it sparingly every 2-3 days. This is crucial! I've used other retinol creams before and even mixed Differin with my moisturizer recently, so I thought I wouldn't experience much irritation. I was wrong. Every evening, I applied it all over my face after toner and Paula's Choice Niacinamide serum, finishing with a moisturizer. For the first three days, my skin looked radiant without any irritation. Honestly, the results are truly impressive. In fact, my skin looked so good that I kept applying it daily all over my face, thinking it was effective without causing irritation. But on the fourth night, my face started stinging, and for about a week after that, my skin began to peel. My skin reacted badly, and I really struggled. It burned, stung, flared up, and peeled off in thick layers. It took about 10 days before things started to calm down. However, if you can manage the amount well, I believe it really does work. I was amazed every morning during the first 3 days of use when I washed my face. I'll use it again, being careful with the amount. I would definitely recommend it to friends. But for those with sensitive skin like me, I strongly advise checking the application method via the QR code on the product and doing a patch test before use. Even if you have experience with retinol, you might end up with irritated skin if you apply it daily just because it seems fine for a day or two, like I did! Anyway, the combination of Paula's Choice Niacinamide serum and this cream works really well. I recommend it. I thought there wouldn't be any irritation since it's not a medication, but there's actually quite a bit. Those with redness, facial heat, or sensitive skin should carefully patch test before applying. Make sure to use it with a Niacinamide serum! I saw a dermatologist on YouTube saying that this combination creates a great synergistic effect. (I'm not a Paula's Choice employee. This duo really works well together.) - ch*******Combination SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsWrinkles/ElasticityMar 5, 2025
It spreads well even with a small amount. I like the ingredients. It was fine at first, but then my face turned red. So disappointing! - ni******Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinEnlarged PoresRecommendedDec 21, 2024
It absorbs well and has a great texture. I'm pleasantly surprised that it's not as irritating as I expected, yet still highly effective. I really like it. There's hardly any scent, and the container seems to be vacuum-sealed, making it easy to store and use. About a week after I started using it, I noticed the fine lines on my forehead becoming smoother and tighter. The product tends to accumulate and harden at the tip of the container's opening. It looks a bit messy and bothers me. When I use two pumps mixed with Es*** Squalane Cream, it gives my skin a beautiful, glossy glow. Remember, it's essential to apply sunscreen during the day after using this product! - rv********Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedDec 11, 2024
I can see my pores becoming less noticeable, so I'm using it consistently I'm not sure about its effect on wrinkles. Unfortunately, when I apply cream over it, it tends to pill I apply it by gently pressing it into my skin, as if filling in the pores. It always keeps my skin hydrated - no******Combination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedOct 11, 2024
As a guy with combination dehydrated skin, I've always struggled with managing certain dry areas while others are oily. This product, however, provides excellent hydration without feeling tight or causing any blemishes to appear. The high concentration of active ingredients made it a bit irritating for me. I felt a slight burning sensation and noticed some redness. It's important to be careful with the amount you apply. - ch******Combination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJul 1, 2024
I switched to 0.3% after using 0.2% from another brand for about two years. Having used retinol for a long time, I didn't feel any irritation at all. I apply two pumps to my entire face daily. My skin texture has improved, and my makeup goes on beautifully! The packaging is fantastic. Unlike other brands with tube types that can tear and seem less hygienic, this pump design allows me to apply a consistent amount each time. Next time, I'm going to challenge myself with the 1% version! I wish they would offer discounts more often. This product is so good, it's almost unfair! Use only at night! It's not good to expose it to UV rays. Also, don't use it with vitamin C... your skin might react badly. If you're having trouble adapting, try mixing a small amount with your serum or emulsion to ease into it!
