  Pros

  This summer, I only used toner and this product for my morning skincare routine before makeup. Using three pumps kept my skin comfortable and hydrated all day. I have combination-dry skin. It's been a fantastic product for me this summer. The serum feels slightly cool and refreshing. I just noticed it also has UV protection and anti-wrinkle ingredients - that makes me even happier! While it feels a bit thick when pumping, it spreads easily. Since it's quite hydrating, gently patting it in with your fingertips helps it absorb well.

  Cons

  There's a strong alcohol smell, and sure enough, alcohol is the third most abundant ingredient. Ha! The ingredient list is a bit disappointing overall. Amore Pacific products always seem to fall slightly short in terms of ingredients. That's why I'm deducting one star.

  Tip

  As mentioned above, since it's quite hydrating when applied, make sure to pat it in with your fingertips for better absorption. It's a perfect serum for summer use. For other seasons, you might want to pair it with a cream or oil-based product.

  I tried a sample and found it nicely hydrating with good moisturizing effects.

  Cons

  The fragrance is way too strong, with an overpowering alcohol scent! The ingredients aren't great either.

  Pros

  Great texture for summer use. When applied after toner and followed by a light moisturizer, it provides just enough hydration to prevent skin from feeling tight. The pump dispenser is vacuum-sealed, which I absolutely love!

  Cons

  1. Alcohol is the third ingredient on the list. I used to use mostly alcohol-free products, so I wasn't aware of how high alcohol content would affect my skin. At first, I used it in summer as a basic hydrating essence, but the alcohol smell bothered me, so I stopped. I started using it again when I ran out of my regular serum. After about 4 days of use, I had to stop because my skin felt dry despite applying the product, and I developed red, itchy patches. Since this was the only change in my routine, I'm certain it was the cause. The alcohol smell is the most bothersome aspect. The gel texture can pill if you apply too much, but I always used a small amount and never experienced pilling with makeup. However, it's clear this is not suitable for fall or winter use. It's formulated for normal skin, so those with dry skin should avoid it. 2. The scent and alcohol content are issues. While many brands are moving towards alcohol-free formulas, it's hard to find an IOPE skin toner without alcohol. The texture can pill easily if you apply too much. It seems they've added a lot of thickeners - it might be better if they removed those and made a thinner formula. Alcohol being the third ingredient means it's very high on the list and present in large amounts. Sensitive skin types might experience itching, redness, swelling, or increasing dryness like I did. Recently, when the temperature dropped, coinciding with my recent use of this product, I felt for the first time in my life like the product was evaporating off my skin. This is definitely not suitable for fall or winter use, and if you must use it, summer is the best time.

  Tip

  There's no reason to purchase this product and put up with its drawbacks. If you do use it, stick to summer use only.
