I started using this product around late December 2019 to early January 2020, after it was reformulated. However, I had to stop using it because I developed unexplained small blemishes all over my forehead. (I'm not sure if it was due to this product or other environmental factors.) Please note that the review below is for the pre-reformulation product! I'm currently looking for other skincare products based on the ingredients of the pre-reformulation version. ------------- To be honest, this was my first time using a gel, so I'm not sure how it compares to others. But looking at this product on its own, I really liked it! It's a clear gel that absorbs well. It doesn't seem too rich, and while I'm not sure if it's absorbing or drying, my skin didn't feel dehydrated. I noticed day by day that my redness was visibly reducing! (*My dermatologist told me I have very developed sebaceous glands between my eyebrows and on my cheeks next to my nose, which makes those areas prone to redness and occasional blemishes. But after using this, the redness significantly faded!) I used it along with the Aloe Vera Skin from the same line, using this gel in place of an emulsion. I liked that it didn't leave my skin feeling greasy like other emulsions did. I prefer a fresh feel, so I really appreciated the lack of oiliness! Considering the volume and price, the value for money seems average, but it's alcohol-free, contains mostly good ingredients, and suits my skin well, so I plan to repurchase when I run out. I've been a skincare nomad for so long... I'm glad I've finally found a product to settle down with!
At first, I felt a slight burning sensation after applying it. But after using it for a few days and once my blemishes started to subside, I didn't feel that sensation anymore. I'm not sure of the exact cause, but I suspect the aloe might have been slightly irritating to areas with blemishes or where my skin was weak! However, I tried this product initially because I knew aloe generally suited my skin. I remember when I applied aloe from the inner part of an aloe leaf to my face, it reduced redness, but I also felt a slight burning sensation on areas with blemishes. So I thought maybe this is just how aloe is, or perhaps it's because those areas of my face were sensitive. The irritation wasn't severe and my face didn't turn red, so I decided to keep using it. After about a week, I was able to use it naturally without any burning sensation. In conclusion, I think this could be quite irritating for those who don't tolerate aloe well. I hope people who suit aloe like me will use it! No matter how good or functional an ingredient is, if it doesn't suit you personally, that's all there is to it. I've always struggled because most well-known functional ingredients don't suit me.. Also, while I like that it's not greasy, I'm a bit worried that it might not have enough oil for cold weather and might dry out my skin. But I'm still applying it generously~ Rather than being greedy for functional ingredients, I'm trying to stick to basic ingredients that don't stress my skin, even if it's a bit less exciting. Speaking of which! While it has good basic ingredients, it doesn't seem to have many functional ingredients. It doesn't seem to have dramatic effects like whitening or improving dark spots. It seems to be a product that focuses on the basics of skincare.
Because I was worried about the low oil content, I often applied it generously. Even then, it didn't feel greasy, which was great! If you store it in the refrigerator, it feels really cool when you apply it. Oh, and I think my blemishes were partly due to not washing my face thoroughly rather than just because of skincare products. When I started washing my face more carefully around the time I started using this product, the blemishes between my eyebrows and on my cheeks definitely decreased. But even before I started washing more thoroughly, just using this product reduced my blemishes and improved my complexion, so I believe this product is good. I was able to request free samples from the Beauticlor website, and after trying the sample and finding it suited me to some extent, I purchased the full size. If you're worried about whether it will suit you, try requesting a sample! As far as I know, it's mostly sold online, but after trying the sample, I wanted to use the full product right away... so I went to City Hall Station (in Seoul) to buy it! You can buy it offline at City Hall Station or Myeongdong! I had to go out anyway, and I'm impatient and needed it quickly, so I bought it offline initially. But when I repurchase after using it up, I plan to buy it online in the future.
