To be honest, I was a bit hesitant about Tonymoly after being disappointed with their lemon cleansing oil before, but this product actually turned out to be quite satisfying. The price isn't burdensome At Olive Young, the regular price for 600ml (500+100) is 15,000 won, which I think is reasonably satisfying, even if it's not the absolute best value for money. It's fragrance-free Some products have unnecessarily strong artificial scents that make you want to throw them away before finishing, but this one doesn't. However, despite being labeled as fragrance-free, there is a faint soap-like scent. It didn't bother me, but those with super sensitive skin might want to test it first. The texture is similar to hand sanitizer It's not as runny as mucus, but it has a slight viscosity like hand sanitizer. This texture provides adequate hydration and is comfortable to apply as a standalone toner. As someone with combination dehydrated skin, one layer wasn't enough when my skin felt parched after cleansing. Two layers provided sufficient hydration without being bothersome. Three layers left a slight rich feeling and stickiness. Most satisfying when mixed with a modeling mask Personally, I was most satisfied using it in this order: mixed with modeling mask > standalone use > toner mask Being a large-volume toner, I didn't feel guilty using it generously in masks. Its viscous texture made the mask feel more elastic and hydrating compared to using water.
Only available in large size (at Olive Young) Although it's in a plastic container, the 500ml volume makes it heavy, which sometimes discourages me from using it. I wonder if a 200-300ml size that fits in one hand plus a refill option would be better. The texture makes it drip around the opening The opening is flat like common large-volume toners, but because this toner has some viscosity, it tends to drip down the sides. You have to wipe it off with your hand or tissue. I wonder if a pump dispenser or an opening with some height difference would work better.
I found it super helpful for calming my skin when I mixed the Mochi Toner 1:1 with a tea tree modeling mask (adjusting the consistency and adding water as needed), and then added 3-4 drops of tea tree oil before applying it as a mask.
